What will 10GB of data get me?

Hi, many proxies providers base their services in GB consumption, so I am trying to find out how many hours of web surfing I'll get for 10 GB of data. No youtube, no social media. Any idea? I used some data usage calculators but the results were contradictory.

That's a tough one. It really depends on what your'e browsing.

If you're checking out hotels on a travel site or properties on a real-estate one, chances are your bandwidth would exhaust soon with those high-res images.

If you're simply reading articles on medium or some blog, you'll go way longer.

To say in figures, your average page size on average could be around 500kb on average. That's around 20,000 pages!

Around 7 years back I had to survive on mobile data and I was using 30GB per month, which was a struggle; limited me to basic web browsing only.

I calculated my bandwidth usage more recently, and I think it was 1000GB per month (based on a 7 day average). That’s for a family of 4 and includes me working at home full time.

Yep, it is definitely tricky to calculate. My usage will be on surveys sites, basically a lot of text with some high-res images ocasionally.
The best thing will be pay per GB and see how it goes but not all providers offer that option.

10gb will run out fast because even 30gb runs out just browsing around

If you're not downloading anything... but in this day and age, that is highly unlikely.

You may be better served finding a better Proxy Provider.

You can download a "Network Traffic Monitor" on your own internet network to analyze the how many GB do you need.

It is for real work purpose as those GB ( assuming they are Mobile IP) are worth and if they are DC IP and static Residential IP then it is a maxed zone but not worth.
Those charges are due to quality and that includes the service charges ( huge ). So, those GB are not for FUN.

As others pointed it out, it's hard to tell. That's why those sites give you contradictory results.

According to the built-in data saver/lite mode of Chrome, i used 21 GB in the past 30 days (saved 2.6 GB) with an avg screen time of 5 hours per day. I don't watch Youtube or anything else bandwidth-intensive via browser, maybe the occasional short video in news articles. So for me 10 GB would be enough for half a month for just browsing.

Just for entertainment purposes: i used 1GB for BHW in the past 30 days and the data saver spared 350 MB. Then there's this site, where i used 160 MB and 1.25 GB was spared. On some sites the data saver in Chrome does wonders. Consider enabling it, if you're using Chrome and data usage is a concern.

Hard to point a finger at an exact figure - why would you want a per GB service btw? Aren't more priced than what you would have to pay for a monthly subscription, unlimited bandiwdth?

They are pricey, definitely. The thing is that some of them offer static IPs, which is what i'm looking, so i'm doing some math to see if they are viable (which is very unlikely because 10 GB burn fast).

LOL I used to have just 1GB monthly and it was enough to browse some stuff online and whatsapp....
EDIT: you can try with the chrome console and measure the consumption, I would also recommend image block and data save extensions.

Do you remember how many hours of basic web browsing you obtained with only 1 GB?
