Do video ads convert better than image ads on facebook ads?

A question for people who have tested both types of ads on Facebook.

If so, what should be the characteristics of this video?

Video length, placement, etc.

For me video ads convert best. It depends on the content of the video and what you are promoting, Don't bore people with long videos too, and Just make the video content straight to the point.

Thanks!

Can you give me tips on how to create videos for facebook ads?

With my current campaigns, I find video more effective, because the content in the video will appear more vivid than the image.

I think it depends on the product you promote if your product doesn't need a demonstration that image ads will be good. The reason most marketers still testing image ads because you don't know whether your image ads or video ads can give a better response. Different people respond to a different types of ads. That's why the best advice is always to A/B test to see which ads work best for you.

The video feels more realistic so it looks better than the picture

Technically an image could convert more than a video, it just depends on the creativity and content of the image.

This is totally product dependent as well as geo

You can't sell educational services in some geo by using vedios

Eg MBA programs and the likes

Check your product..go on fb library

Dig more then implement

Exactly! However it will also depend on the target viewers. Lots of factors to consider.

today's trend is gradually moving towards content in the form of video clips, people prefer to consume videos rather than text and images

I think it depends on the level of engagement, for instance an image could be more engaging than a video. So it's all about the content. Granted all things being equal, a video should have more content than an image

In short:

Consider the type of product and the habits of the type of product buyers.

But at the same time, disregarding this above, can we consider that, in general, video ads work better, simply because they are different from the other content in the user's feed?

Get.

Video creator or invideo

Do a/b testing with wp plugin.

Gd luck

Videos do convert much better than the image, take an example from the Puma ads, I have seen their multiple ads. The more demanding Nitro shoes are a recent addition to their collection. Puma runs two type of campaigns in which they have showcase Nitro shoes as image and in one ad they have showcase the video. I was attracted towards the video one, this is my opinion might be somebody have different one. A proper working of the product will convert more rather then just displaying its image.

Yes they do. Here's a screenshot from my other thread here that I posted yesterday on how do I create video ads (at least for eCom, but it's pretty much the same for info-products, agency type of stuff, etc.):

Oh my, why the image is so massive here...

it's totally depending on the creatives for image or video. If your video is good than video convert better than image.

Videos and Gifs are performing generally better because it draws more attention when people scroll to their timelines.
But it also depends a bit on the target audience and message, it's the same discussion about long or short Ad copy and both can perform less or better depending on targeted audience
so in a nutshel, test test test :)

It's always worth testing both images and video but it majorly depends on the offer. For lead gen I murder it with images and with ecom I mainly have success with videos.
