All the best for a quick recovery :).
With a long journey on the cards, one has to expect some days when they are either sick, or cannot do the work from another reason. Looking forward to see you back in full fitness soon!

Apr. 15, 2021 | Day 46

Productivity: Published 1 amazon buyer intent article of 3605 words. I felt excellent today and had one of the most enjoyable days since the start of the journey.

The health issues I was talking about were related to extreme stress and the 2-day break was just what I needed. I took 2 long 4-5 hour walks during these two days and reflected on everything. Yesterday, I went to the river and stared at the water for half an hour. This was not only therapeutic but helped me relax, which made me think more clearly.

I realized that I went way over my head with my work rate. I got into a state where I got more and more nervous and stressed to get enough work done each day without even realizing it. While that might be an efficient strategy to get the work done, it caused a lot of unconscious stress that was building up during the last 3-4 weeks. I realized that for my own health and well-being, I need to tone down the work for at least a month or two.

I was too weighted by the amount of work that needs to be done, but I didn't realize that the work I was doing was lower in quality because of that. When I was writing today, I felt relaxed and calm. The attitude I had today was that the work is gonna take as long as it takes. I can't push myself too far like I did last few weeks, or I'm literally gonna end up in hospital.

From now on, all the work I'm doing is going to be relaxed. I'm going to actually enjoy the work that way and preserve my health. Those 10 extra articles a month are not worth going through the stress and dissatisfaction each day. If I ever improve to a point where I am actually able to methodically write more quality articles in a day, I will start doing so, but only if I'm relaxed and cool while doing it.

Sorry for the long post and a rambling text guys. I just felt I needed to get this off my chest and share it with my black hat buddies :)

Taking care of yourself should be #1. Hope you get better soon so there will be more updates to read.
Thank you, man! Yeah, it absolutely should be, and that's what I overlooked for years but I'm not going to anymore. I don't care about results, I just want to work and enjoy what I'm doing, otherwise, what's the point?
Get well, dude.
Thank you, man, I'm feeling great now! The break was necessary and got me thinking about important stuff. I'm glad it panned out this way!
Wish you luck with your journey
I'm sure everything will be just perfect
Thank you, man! Appreciate the support!

Thank you, my man! The two days I took off were just what I needed. My body couldn't handle the stress anymore, and I didn't even realize it until I started feeling the physical pain. You were right in one of your replies when you said that I shouldn't be so hard on myself. Maybe I was doing more, but that more was more than I could handle and turned out to be less in the end with two days of no work.

Apr. 16, 2021 | Day 47

Productivity: Published 1 Amazon Buyer Intent article of 2496 words. Nothing much to say besides that. Tomorrow is the weekly update.

Apr. 17, 2021 | Day 48

Weekly Update #7

Productivity: Published 2 informational articles of 951 and 795 words for a total of 1746 words written today.

Stats For The Site:

Analytics

Some informational articles are starting to receive more traffic and we, therefore, see an increase in overall site traffic. This is the first week we managed to hit 400+ sessions, so that's a nice little milestone.

Amazon

A surprise from Amazon. I got lucky and got a $200 item sale which I don't promote. That's the beauty of the Amazon affiliate program. You can promote pencils and get a cookie for the customer that buys $5000 worth of renovation materials.

The buyer intent articles are still stagnant, so we're still waiting for those to start ranking and to see some real increase in earnings.

Productivity For This Week

Articles Published: 5 (3 buyer intent and 2 informational)

Words Written: 11674

Compared To Last Week: -5 articles and -8911 words

What can I say about this week... It's ironic that I've done twice as much work last week and earned 4 times less from Amazon. But that shit is not important. What is important is that I'm enjoying my work more than before and that the journey keeps going.

Next week I will probably take a full day for restructuring the old content and creating a plan for a new content template. The main thing I'll be changing is adding tables, most likely with the help of AAWP.

That's it for this week, guys! See you on Monday, and stay safe!

Really enjoy your journey! Hope you will now stay relaxed and having fun with what you are doing..:-) One question (sorry if you mention it). Are you native speaker?

I am wishing you that you are gonna achieve all goals you set up for yourself!

Apr. 19, 2021 | Day 50

Productivity
: Spent the whole day re-designing my blog post template with aawp. As good as this plugin is, and as many templates as it has, it just couldn't do what I needed it to do, so I had to a lot of HTML and CSS editing to get the design I wanted. Still, I think it's by far the best Amazon API plugin available, and I successfully finished setting up the table, product review, and single product box designs.

Now that the new design is in place, I have to make a new post template using those designs. After that, I need to update the old posts with the table and the AAWP links. The only thing left to do then is to apply for all the amazon locales and let the AAWP do the redirection. I'll try to do all of this tomorrow.

I enjoyed doing this type of work where I optimized the site and designed it for conversions. I'm a marketer, and that's what I enjoy doing. Writing simply isn't my passion, but I don't have too many options for now. Can't wait until I get to outsource the content and only focus on conversion and search engine optimization.

Good luck with your journey OP
Thank you, appreciate the support!

Thank you, man, I'm glad that you've found value in this journey!

I'm not a native speaker, although I have a solid understanding of the language. There is a lot of room for improvement, and the fact that I don't enjoy writing that much doesn't help. Still, I think my articles are readable, and with the help of Grammarly, I've produced solid, close to native English articles until now.

Apr. 20, 2021 | Day 51

Productivity
: Spent the whole day redesigning the tables and review boxes. Came up with the final design and applied for amazon.co.uk and amazon.ca affiliate programs, and then set up the redirection with the geo-targeting feature in AAWP.

The editing and redesigning of the old posts started really slow. I got the hang of it later on but decided to stop and I will finish updating the posts tomorrow. I will also create a new post template which shouldn't take long since I got everything ready and just need to copy-paste the designs into the template.

This all took more time than I anticipated, but I'm ok with that. I will end up with a much more functional and conversion-optimized site and will spend less time searching for products and editing the amazon codes.

Hopefully, I'll be able to finish the whole redesign tomorrow and write 1 info article.

Does Amazon still provide reports on what people purchased using your link? I stopped doing Amazon about 10 years ago as I concentrated on something else.

How closely related are what people purchased according to your link? I used to target those products as well when I saw someone visited my link, but bought something else.

Apr. 21, 2021 | Day 52

Productivity
: Managed to fully update 15 articles with the new design. It's tedious work, and especially for tables, I spend a lot of time. I still have around 20 posts that need to be updated but will do so next week. Made a great new conversion-optimized template that I'm very happy with. It looks professional and will hopefully increase the trust and conversions of future visitors. I made yet a new set of changes to the design today, as I did in the past 2 days. This design is the final one and the one that I'm very satisfied with.

I enjoyed the whole redesigning and optimization process very much, and as I mentioned earlier, this is what I like to do since I'm a marketer, not a writer. The process is almost complete, and the only thing left to do is to update the rest of the articles next week. Tomorrow, I go back to writing articles because, without them, there is no dough.

Yes, they do. You can even set up tracking ids for every Amazon link you put on your website and track the number of clicks, conversions, and items purchased for that particular link.

I'd say about 60-70% of the orders are closely related to the products I'm promoting. The rest are completely unrelated and sometimes bring the majority of the revenue since I promote low ticket items ($5-$25).

On one of my earlier sites, I once got a conversion for some super expensive musical instrument I've never heard of. It was something like $1500, and back then, commissions for instruments were as high as 8%, so I think I got over $100 for an item that wasn't even remotely close to what I was promoting. I ended up earning more from that 1 item than I ever did from all the other sales combined for that site :D

Apr. 22, 2021 | Day 53

Productivity: Published 1 informational article of 835 words and edited 5 old articles. Had to finish earlier today cause I got a few scheduled things to take care of.

Apr. 23, 2021 | Day 54

Productivity: Published 1 amazon buyer intent article of 3379 words. I actually enjoyed writing it since I wrote my last buyer intent article a week ago. I guess I missed it a bit, lol.

Tomorrow is Saturday, which is the day for a weakly update.

Weekly Update #8

Productivity: Published 1 informational article of 735 words.

Stats For The Site

Analytics

4 analytics.png

Quite a few new articles are getting consistent traffic now. One informational article got 40 entrances this week which is amazing. A few buyer intent articles are getting small traffic now, so that's good to see.

Amazon

4 amazon.png

Another kick in the head from Amazon. The worst week since the start of the journey. I won't comment on this one any further as it is pointless. Way too early for any consistent earnings to kick in. We need to wait and not get discouraged!

Productivity For The Week:

Writing: 3 articles (1 buyer intent and 2 informational), 4949 words

Other: Spent the majority of the week re-designing the site to be full Amazon API-driven and boost conversions. Managed to edit around 20 articles, still a lot to go, so I guess I'll be doing that next week. I'm obviously only updating buyer intent articles.

Next week, I hope to write more articles and will focus more on buyer intent ones.

That's it for this week, guys! See you on Monday, and stay safe!

Good luck with it, you have a very high bounce rate. I would look into that and see what the reason is.

You will get better conversions and also better rankings if you can improve that bounce rate.

Maybe you could consider adding ads to your site. That's what a lot of amazon sites do nowadays

Apr. 26, 2021 | Day 57

Productivity: Published 1 amazon buyer intent article of 3301 words. Found a competitor that has a huge site and is targeting the niche I'm focused on. His articles are actually very thorough and quite possibly better than mine. Hopefully, I'll outgrow him in terms of topical relevancy as he seems to have a lot of different topics to cover and not just the one I'm working on right now. Still, I'm happy to share some traffic if I eventually rank, but the first objective is to actually start ranking.

Good luck with it, you have a very high bounce rate. I would look into that and see what the reason is.

You will get better conversions and also better rankings if you can improve that bounce rate.
I don't see any correlation between conversions and bounce rate. A high bounce rate (over 90%) is common with affiliate sites since people are looking for specific products and are not interested in your site and browsing other content. They want to quickly read the recommended products and get quick answers to their question. Most of the successful Amazon affiliates have a high bounce rate, as that is inevitable with best x for y articles. Good luck to you too!

Forgot to mention that I won't work tomorrow because I'll be helping out a buddy with some renovation work. Next update on Wednesday.

Apr. 27, 2021 | Day 58

Productivity: Published 1 amazon buyer intent article of 2418 words. The rain stopped the renovation work that was supposed to happen today. We'll probably do it later this week when the rain stops.
