Hello everyone, and welcome to my journey!

About Me

Like it says in the title, as of today, I'm starting a new life. No more bullshiting, no more whining, no excuses.

I'm going to make it now, or I never will. Period!

Today I quit the job I was working for the last year and a half. It was tough work, construction work.

Broke my back every day carrying adhesives and cement bags, freezing in the winter, and cooking in the summer heat.

6 months ago, I told my boss that I had enough and that I will quit in exactly 6 months, and that's what I did.

He's a good guy that treated me well, but I could not take it anymore. I knew that the only way I could succeed is to do IM full time.

So, I saved some money for a solid office. It's a nice place and I got a huge discount on it. I saved enough money to support myself for about a year.

What Kind of IM Bussines am I Currently Doing

I'm currently focused on an Amazon affiliate site that started growing in traffic in December last year. It is the only successful affiliate site I started when I first got into IM, and funnily enough, the one I spent the least time on. I started 4 other sites along with this one, but they didn't turn out to be successful since I made a ton of rookie mistakes.

This is the screenshot of the growth in organic clicks for the site:

gsc.png

As you can see, it is steadily growing and is currently receiving around 50 average pageviews a day.

Here are some stats for the site:

  • Total Number of Articles Published: 29 (14 real keyword targeted articles, and the rest are just filler articles that are worthless)
  • Age: 10 months - The domain was registered in April last year and is in the Google index for the same amount of time.
  • Niche: Will not specify. It is an evergreen niche with a ton of potential for growth since it's huge.
  • Earnings: December 2020 = $11.78, January 2021 = $12.05, February 1-26 2021 = $12.31
  • Links: Built some last year, a few months after I registered the domain. GSC shows 63 total external links.
  • Pageviews: 1,729 in the last 30 days.
  • Geo: 76.82% United States, 7.70% United Kingdom, 4.95% Canada, and 2.54% Australia.
I also have an indexing issue with this site that was not present before as all the articles were indexed almost instantly. It happened when I published the last article a month ago. It wouldn't index and I got the Discovered - Currently not indexed issue. It's indexed on Bing and actually received some organic clicks from there, but no matter what I did it wouldn't index in google. There is nothing I can do anymore, so I only hope this problem won't occur with the articles published in the future.

What I plan to do with this site and some goals I'd like to achieve:

  • Publish at least 200 articles till the end of the year. Got 252 keyword ideas from Ahrefs Trial. It's a mix of info and buyer keywords with about 75% buyer and 25% info keywords.
  • Get to at least $150 a month consistently with Amazon till the end of the year. (The amount needed to have my basic expenses covered)
I will write all the content myself. I'm not a particularly talented writer and I'm not exactly knowledgeable enough to write articles in my niche. I'll have to do a looooot of research and that will for sure take a huge chunk of my workdays.

My first goal as a content writer is to get to a consistent routine of publishing 1 article a day. Until then I will do my absolute best to write and learn as fast as I can and develop as a writer.

I'm actually pretty good at keyword research and I consider it to be a crucial part of a successful site. I'm focused on building a lot of topical relevancy and I have structured my site in silos. There are 3 main silos I'm targeting and each of those 3 have additional 10+ sub silos and those sometimes have additional sub silos as well. I found a lot of low competition keywords that I will target first, and when I publish a substantial amount of articles in each silo I will move to some medium and high competition articles.

What Am I Trying To Achieve With This Journey

I don't have a set goal in terms of monthly income. I would like to flip the site in the future and invest in some surgeries.

I'll most likely start a few more sites during this journey and will try to write the content for multiple sites when I get better at it (or outsource it if the earnings get high enough).

But that's not the focus of this journey. It's not about this site or other sites. It's about persistence, hard work, and discipline. Showing to myself that I'm not a pathetic loser that everyone always thought I was.

I'm removing all distractions. Social media, gone. Stupid friends that drag me down, gone. Video games, TV shows, Movies, all gone!

I have nothing to stop me now! All the things that are problematic are behind me, I have no excuses left!

I will update this journey daily, and I'm now promising to share every detail of every workday that I go through with you guys. This thread is my responsibility, I hope it will push me to work even harder since I don't want to disappoint my blackhatters. I also hope it will motivate some of you guys to work hard as well and hopefully we can share some success stories in this thread.

This journey is inspired by @Kikerinka and his wonderful journey thread. Because I saw how he and other users have benefited from his journey thread, I started this one, hoping I can be at least 50% consistent and helpful as he is.

I'm starting the journey on Monday, March 1st, 2021, and will work until I get enough money to get my surgeries done (will not specify the amount needed). After that, I will continue with this journey and try to scale things to a whole new level, but that's a bit too distant now, so let's stick with where we are now, and what can we do at this moment.

Please do not hesitate to ask if you got any questions. Will be happy to answer them.

Noted that you won't specify the details of your niche, but perhaps share the approximate vertical / general category for some context? Thanks

Good luck mate, I did not know you've led such a difficult life till now (working on a construction site). Must be an extra motivation to really see this one through to the end. And the surgeries too...

Wish you all the best, and will keep my eye on this one.

hey brother nice journey! We are on the same boat. I started I niche site last July and now it's 7 months old and we have the same search console stats. I made some rookie mistakes and I am fixing that right now. I am getting a hundred organic traffics since I fixed in last Feb 1 2021. Hoping to hit the 300-400 traffic a day to apply for Ezoic :)

It is ok to make mistakes because we learn and we don't lose anything. I hope that both of us can be successful on our goals this year. Hope you read my journey too because I am planning to drop out at the end of the year :) Can I ask questions?

Have you build links?

Hoping to hear on your next update brother :)

I appreciate this hint and I will like to ask if there are some tools used or addons when trying to index the website to help we newbies in tapping from this

I can give you an example. Let's say that my niche is a sub-niche of SEO Niche. It's sort of an off-page SEO, link building, brand building of an SEO Niche. Hope this helps you get a better picture.
Good luck OP, best decision you could have made mate.
Thanks, mate! Appreciate the support of such a legend of this forum :D

Thanks, mate! Your journey was crucial for the decision I made. I'm very grateful that you'll keep an eye on my journey, and hopefully, you'll give me some advice to make the best out of it :)

Glad that your site is growing mate, and I'm sure you'll hit that traffic goal!

I have built some forum, web 2.0's and free guest post links over the course of few months when I first started the site. Blasted them with some GSA tier-2 and tier-3 links and it seems it worked pretty alright.

Good luck with your journey! I'll take a look at it for sure!

Hey mate, I didn't use any tools for indexing other than the request indexing tool in GSC. All the articles were indexed almost instantly, but I hit a snag when I published the last article on this site.

I hope it won't happen in the future but we'll see. As to advice, all I can say is to publish original content, force index it in GSC, and pray :D I have tried social shares, pinging, several indexing services but had no luck with any of them.

This is exactly what needed to stay focused, i did this either.
But at some point you feel you need one - and when that time comes, just making sure you're not addicted!
Its hard to get off the hook when you do for sure...

incredible work. Keep it up.
Thanks for the encouragement mate! Unfortunately nothing really incredible about my work till now. Planning to change that big time though!
Good luck OP, Where are you sourcing your contents?
I'm writing the content. Used a few writers from the BHW marketplace and was satisfied with the quality but unfortunately, I have no dough for them anymore.

I sure as hell don't need it anymore. All I did was scroll all day and read a bunch of trivial texts. I had one friend that messaged me constantly, lost my focus because of him. I have no real use for social media. People still have a way to contact me and if they don't want to do it my way, fuck em!

The first day of the journey... sigh

It was tough, had to buy an ethernet cable that I forgot to. Lost about an hour on that and wasted the most productive hours of the day.

I probably lost another hour on adjusting to the new work environment. Placing everything where it should be, organizing the day most efficiently. I figure I'll need at least a week to get in some sort of routine and figure out what my "perfect" workday should be like.

Productivity:

Managed to write 1600 words. This particular article needs to be thorough, so I guess I'll spend the next day writing it as well. Hopefully, I'll finish it and publish it tomorrow.

Spent probably about 3 hours on research. It's a really technical subject and requires a lot of focus. I wrote two pages of a4 paper of notes. Learned a lot today. Happy about that.

Still adjusting my breaks, had a longer one for lunch and had a short nap just after. Then I headed back to my office and drank a cup of coffee while relaxing for about 30-40 minutes. After that, my writing speed has improved significantly. I guess I had about 2 and a half-hour break altogether, including the morning shopping.

Stats For The Site:

For now, I don't plan to upload any traffic and income reports daily. I'll probably do so weekly since that's not my focus at the moment. I'm focused 100% on content writing and pushing the most content possible. Probably won't even check them until the end of the week because it distracts me very much. I get too caught up in the numbers and start thinking what to change, what to adjust, etc. Guess that's a good thing, but as I said, I don't need that now.

See you guys tomorrow!

Good luck, your goals are very realistic so go for them.

Why did you rent an office? Can't you just work at your place?

Will follow

Well, I got a really damn good deal for it. It was a bargain really and the benefits of an office are tremendous. I realised that today.

I was much more focused than when I worked from home since I have a few people living with me.

At the end of the day, if I get more work done than it's worth it.

"o, I saved some money for a solid office. It's a nice place and I got a huge discount on it. I saved enough money to support myself for about a year. "

You have already proven you have the brains and determination to succeed and have accomplished more in a year than many do in 5 years.

Great job.

Keep doing the Amazon processes but search BHW for the training course depositories that are on MEGA. Get a business account and start transferring those courses to it and download them ALL to your own hard drive. Or use MultCloud.com (free) to transfer them to your Google account, where you can download them without limits.

Specifically, join WSOArchives and download the group buy course for $10 called Gusten Sun – FullTime Funnel Designer. It will give you a blueprint on how to make funnels to sell for $2500 each.

There are alot of courses there. Get a bigger hard drive. You will need it.

But remember the key. Those page views are NOT YOUR CUSTOMERS. Until you capture their email, they don't belong to you. So do a giveaway of a PLR course from PLRDatabase.net (nice ones there) in return for a signup. And NEVER mail more than once a week or maybe even on the 15th and 30th, which coincides with when people get paid. Never piss people off that give you their email.

Sincerely,

The Eye

Productivity
:

Managed to write around 2400 words today. Published the article I started to write yeasterday at the final word count of 3938 words. Happy about the improvement in amount of words written.

Spent a lot of time editing the article in wordpress before publishing. I'm gonna reduce that time by making a template for buyer intent posts. I wanted to do this for some time but never got down to making it because of how fucked up I felt when I was working my previous job. So, on my tommorow to do list is to make a template for my buyer intent posts.

Made a draft for the article I'll write tommorow. Hopefully I can publish it tommorow as well.

Other:

I'm crossing my fingers that the indexing/crawling issue doesn't continue. I did all the recommended stuff, posted to twitter, pinterest, used pingler.com, made internal links to the article, and requested indexing through GSC. It was submited in the sitemap like the other article that has issues. We'll see how it goes.

Not sure what to make of this reply... Thank you for the advice, but this seems more like a sales pitch than an honest suggestion. I think I'll stick with Amazon mate, thanks for stopping by.
Awesome thread man. I am following your journey. I would like to learn a thing or two from this.
Thank you man! Hopefully we can learn together while we go trough this journey. I'm very much a noob, only 2 days in :)

Good luck with your journey, I hope you will be successful.

Mar. 3, 2021 | Day 3

Productivity
:

Managed to write 1648 words today. I finished the product review part and will finalize the buyer's guide and faq section tomorrow.

Lost about half a day for the post template I mentioned yesterday. That's why the word count for today is low. I also downloaded a shit ton of images for the new set of articles in this group. I did it in advance so that it will save me some time later. The template will for sure be a huge time saver so I think it was worth making it.

I also lost some time on research for the article as well. This is a completely different topic than the one in yesterday's article so it requires me to do research from the ground up. Hopefully, as time passes and I get more knowledgeable about the topics I'll just get straight into the writing and minimalize the research part.

I would like to finish and publish this article tomorrow and at least write the majority of the next article.

Good luck with your journey, I hope you will be successful.
Thank you man! I hope that as well, the one thing that I know is that I won't stop working hard and smart. Hopefully, it will pay off.

I'm following your journey OP.
which link building strategy do you used? did you used brand keyword and anchord keyword guest posts at real websites or spam like links in comments and profiles?

Dude you are putting in good efforts inbb NJ this niche and I could say excellent result ahead from what I’m seeing, all needed is the finance to try and fail to gain experiences and move on better lane. You really don’t great!

Best of luck to you! I hope you make it big. Construction sucks, I oversee some of that in my day life and I don't know how they deal with lifting those bags. If you're talking about back surgeries, be VERY careful there. I've known several people who've had them done and not only do they not last forever, if you overdue anything during recovery you can actually put yourself in a worse position than before the surgery.

Consider stretches and deep tissue work. I got one of those "deep tissue massage guns" on Amazon recently for all of my muscle issues from years of martial arts and bodybuilding. Been a real game changer. They have some good ones for $150 or less. Got referred to it by a former bull rider.
