Hey guys,

May I ask what are the major difficulties that you have encountered when you started SEO - from zero knowledge? And do these difficulties are the same challenges you are facing at the moment?

It is hard because there is a lot of information to read about, and SEO learning never stops. There is always more, and more, and more to learn!
For me, the main ''problem'' was to understand that in SEO, you can't set a timeframe & alarm to reach your goal. It's a process...

There are many in different aspect. But in particular, Financial investment which cannot be predict on outcome.

Understanding Backlinks Concept and also implementing it. And SEO is a Vast area. And you can learn more and more while you are using in it. There is no end. And also a magical interesting one.

are you trying to do seo for your own site or you trying to start a seo agency? knowing this would allow us to better provide advice that would fit your journey.

There are tons of problem, here is the main one:
  1. Information OVERLOAD
  2. Doesn't have enough capital
  3. doesn't know which seller sell you decent links, and service
  4. Yes we have information overload, but at the same time we don't know which information is right for us. (too many useless one at your current situation)
  5. lack of technical skill, (like you need to change the site code to optimize seo, and for me it happen a few time, its very costly if you need to pay programmer every time you change things)
  6. and here is the biggest problem when you face a wall, and got stuck. Don't know what to do to fix it, no capital to pay consultant(even you have capital, no solution is given), testing a - z with no result.

Once you know the lucrative keywords, actually building content that ppl will like and rank for those keywords.

Maybe I have it backwards because most of the things I'm really passionate about don't rank very well and it'll be impossible to make money targetting those topics.

What niche are you in?

I guess access to popular SEO tools was dificult. As newbie you lack funds thus access to various tools.

Hmm. Well, I can't even remember when I started working on SEO, but I think it was around 2008. The major difficulties that I had back then were information; I didn't know anything about SEO whatsoever. So I just started experimenting and grew my knowledge over time. Fast forward 13 years and I am still experimenting, learning and adapting.

Aside from information, I think the biggest challenges for me are probably pinpointing exactly what works because it's often hard to correlate specific changes with ranking improvements.

Hi im just starting a site too. I saw there are ppl selling like 30k backlinks for $10 .. is that not enough or are crap backlinks? I asked this because when you said no capital for backlinks I assume these $10 backlinks are crap
