A clients just called me a "high class bitch"

So I have this client who I charge 2k$ per month for web design+seo+google ads.

Last month we did a press release (it's the 3rd time we do this). On previous ocassions I charged him 500$ for this. I always told him in advance the cost and he agreed.

This time, I forgot to remind him that the cost was 500$.

So when I sent him the invoice, he was very angry. He said that he's already paying me a lot of money and that I should not charge him for the press release.

He said that the fact that I'm charging him for every task that I do (other than the 2k$) is something that a "high class bitch" would do.

During the conversation, I just tried to calm him down as I did not want to lose the client.

But now I'm thinking about what he said, and I'm feeling a bit offended.

What do you think? The guy is +60 yrs old, and I know that these kind of people have a lot of ego. I know I should not take it personally, but in a way I feel offended...

Obviously, I know nothing about your client or the conversation you had.

If I had a situation similar to yours, a response from me would be "Yeah, but I'm your high-class bitch. I always make sure your ass is happy and satisfied."

Sometimes guys like these just want to have a small power play.

I sold high ticket items for years and I think I even had a similar convo with someone who was complaining about the price.

Isn't 500 a little bit too much for a press release ? Each side can complain ,but you should both think logical..

As for your relation ,it'd be intelligent from you to give him a discount ,for example you could let the press release at half the price because you are both in this long-term , and you both want a long-term collaboration.

Realistically speaking, if somebody would charge me 500 for that ,I'd look for another guy , so you should be smart and do what you need to do to keep the client.
