McAfee posted one message on Twitter claiming so, that's all. If everybody who ever put out a shaky tweet was considered crazy or an opportunist, most of us would be in the funhouse. I met the man in person at a political convention years ago, he's as sane as your average BHW member. When he said he knows who Nakamoto is, he added he would reveal that identity via clues over time. So he's taking his sweet time (but he'd better hurry, since he's in his 70's).

It was more than 30 seconds, and he appeared and interacted with an audience for a whole afternoon. Nobody commented that he was loony. I have actually done work in the mental health field, and can assure you I didn't meet him in any such facility. Nor am I aware of anybody else who developed a major software application being casually accused of having major mental problems. Perhaps it is you who don't know the man, and never met him personally.
