Do Guns Make Us Safer?

I'm currently living in a European country where guns are only allowed under certain circumstances (hunting,sport....) but not everyone like in the USA.

What are your opinions on this?

I sometimes think it will make us safer, but much more vulnerable so I prefer stay as we are now in my country.

In my country - also in Europe - people are weird, so it's hard to look at it coldly.

On the other hand - I would feel more confident having a gun than not having it. Please note: if a criminal wants a gun, he will get it anyway - legally or not. And we are safer when we have weapons and when the attacker knows we can have weapons.

Having guns in a community obviously makes it more dangerous than if absolutely no one has guns (apart from LE)

But.. if a shit tonne of bad mfs that all live in proximity to your house all have guns and if crime in your city is endemic, then having some way to protect yourself on a level playing field seems like a no brainer.

Some people live in idealistic make believe land.. sipping lattes in starbucks from the safety of the wealthiest and safest neighbourhoods, telling people that live in absolutely violence-ridden hell holes that they should have to call the cops and wait 20 minutes if 3 guys with glocks break into their house and attempt to home invade them and rape any of the women in the house.

I'd have a whole bunch of guns too if I lived in some parts of the US. Luckily I've lived in places where that's not necessary, but I sure as fuck wouldn't preach to the people living there about how they should and shouldn't protect their families under extreme circumstances that I don't have to deal with.

I love guns, I would also have one in my daily life, but the fact that I can get shot buying groceries throws me back. I can get killed in an accident every day, exactly.

But it still a debatable problem, there people that just buy them because they can and idiots and in some case go on a killing spree.
It so debatable subject.

There also the accidental killings and other stuff that make you think.

It's not the gun that's the issue. It's the operator. Everyone has guns ESPECIALLY criminals. The main rule I live by is "don't let nobody know what you have" Your enemy can have all the most high powered guns in the world and you just have a simple pistol. If you know what they are bringing, and they don't know what you are waiting with, then you have the upper hand.
