Sell/Keep/Give Up - What Shell I Do With My Site?

Hey gang, a first-time poster here - lovely to be a part of your community

First, let me introduce myself. I'm Zee and I'm shit with SEO. Buuuuut, I'm good with content writing, that is, with sports betting content (I'm a sports journo by trade). Anyway, a year ago, me and my colleagues started a site to see if it's possible to gain anything from content-only. So, what we did was basically whitest hat possible, like, bleached hat seo.

Anyway, a year has passed and the site isn't doing as we expected (the site in question is theFatCatBet.com). So, what I'm trying to figure out is whether we should try to sell it (if possible at all), keep it (and invest more time & money), or give up entirely?

To give you an idea of what we're dealing with here, here are some pros and cons (in my opinion) of this site:
Pros:

• Quality content - written by pro sportswriters (no fluff, real info, plus Grammarly gives 90+ score on practically all the posts on the site)
• US traffic - 90+ percent of visitors are from the US, Canada, and the UK
• Absolutely white hat SEO - didn't pay for any guest posts, ads, or anything. Didn't even use social media to promote it.
• Good idea - the site is about prop bets, which aren't available in US-based sportsbooks, so Americans need to bet offshore (the plan was to become an affiliate of BetOnline, Bovada, or whatever)

Cons:

• Low traffic - the site is getting hardly any traffic, with two-figure views per day
• Posts get more traffic than pages - Game previews do way better than pages, meaning that in order to get regular visitors, we need to write posts every day (and that takes time and effort)
• Domain/Hosting about to expire - I got until mid-March to decide what to do with the site cause hosting will expire.

At this point, I literally have no idea what to do with it. So, I really think I'm gonna do whatever you tell me to do - let real pros decide for me

how many articles does the site have?

Hi Pepeneo, 87 posts, each with 500+ words (most have ~1,000 words). There are also 34 pages.

Two figure views per day for 87 posts is extremely low, I have a feeling that you are not actually targeting any keywords rather then writing general articles

Yeah, pretty much general articles, although we do pay attention on keywords (albeit, only per Yoast instructions - all articles got the green light from Yoast). The best response we got was for "Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills Prediction" and "Nikola Jokic Triple Double Prop Bet"

Well you do not actually target kw's which have traffic, and all of the articles are time-sensitive by the time they would rank nobody is searching for them anymore

Using yoast is asking for trouble, you have definitely over optimized your articles and kw stuffed them

Yeah, I assumed SEO was the #1 problem. What we basically did is choose topics based on what we found interesting. For instance, Jokic triple bet - it seemed very interesting to me at the time... Anyway, guess the site would stand a chance if someone who knew SEO got involved. But that takes time (and money), so I guess it would be best to give up... Right?

dont give it up, ur website is in good standing, it does have some authority and trust from google.
Learn how to do keyword research for the industry which you are targeting, and write articles targeting low competition kw's
As your website is already one year old google has some user data on it and you will see that the low comp articles will start getting traffic in no time

I might do that, yeah. It's just that at this point, I'm still trying to figure out which road to take . But, if I decide to continue, guess I'll have to step it up - write articles more frequently, do more research, and yeah, get some guest posts.

You built a good base and you have great writing skills, I'd focus on long-term (not time sensitive) low competition keywords for a few months.. Get another 80-90 of those articles (1000+ words) and you'll definitely see 3 figure daily traffic.

Hi Levn, thanks for getting involved. Think I'll do exactly what you suggested and then see how it goes
