If you got a few spare minutes, go ahead and watch the following video:
To quickly sum up his "idea":
1. Donating to popular Twitch Streamers (having TTS enabled) and supplying a domain into the read process.
2. Baiting them via a catchy message, e.g. "You're on the front page of xxx" -> As streamers need content (or are curious in general) they'll click on the website.
3. Basically getting a shoutout for ~$5 in front of thousands of viewers.
In my opinion, the try was very successful! He received 500+ real visitors, sold 9 products and made a revenue of $400+ for an investment of $15 donations! Unfortunately, he ended up with losses (profit-wise) due to the products being wrongly priced. Though the ground concept, i.e. advertising through baity TTS, isn't too bad.
Some things that should definitely be improved:
1. The store and products themselves. He set up the whole project within an hour, thus it's obvious that there is a tremendous lack of professionality.
2. Strategic placement of the donation. Sending the "voice message" within a speedrun, while the streamer is AFK, or alike isn't smart. Timing is the key.
... so: What's your opinion on this matter?
