Migrating in Hungary...any thought?

These are all the taxes payable by self-employed persons not doing KATA:
Personal income tax: 15%
Social security tax: 18.5%
Social contribution: 15.5%

There's a minimum amount of tax they need to pay each month. It's not a fixed amount, it grows whenever the minimum wage increases. In any case, it's more than 50k HUF what you pay for KATA. There are two versions of minimum wages (depending on the level of qualification), according to that for February the minimum tax is either 60k HUF or 79K HUF. 1 USD ~300 HUF.

The KATA option seems better if there is no maximum basis for the social security and social contribution, as it's 40% over the 12M HUF.

Idk what to say, man... Hungary is a very dangerous country. One wrong move, and you'll lost your heart to one hungarian girl.
So pay maximum attention with the girls there!

Budapest is in top 3 best cities in Europe for sure. Once covid is dead, go to Pontoon any night of the week - absolutely killer place to party on the river. Also the Jewish quarter is great for restaurants and bars. Szimpla is a modern day wonder of the world imo - cherry beer and shisha in that place is <3

I am married, man. And my wife is moving with me. :D:D

Thanks a lot. Still, a long way to go. I ready to submit my application now. If they approve then I can move or else it's the end.

Immigration is tougher in Hungary though bro, you should know that. Hungary and Poland (and Czech to a degree) are not like UK/France/Germany with regards to immigration.

Okay, that's something new. Actually, whatever I need to submit my application, I did so far. All are legit and valid documents I have collected. Now, what the authority will think that's completely up to them. If they reject, then it's okay. The process I went through is new learning for me. In that case, I will try for another country wherever the self-employed visa is open now. Thanks again for your insight.

Croatia is another good pick. Also you might want to take a look at some of the South American countries. Argentina for one is nice and cheap imo

Bangladesh. It's not confirmed yet but the paperwork is done. I got an appointment date end to the March. If they approve my application then I will move there.

How you applying? As far as I know, there is no Hungary embassy in Bangladesh.

Thanks for the idea. If this one is not working, then I will go for the other one.

I took the appointment at the Hungarian embassy in Delhi.

Indeed, that's why almost every self-employed person who can, pays taxes in the KATA system, but there are a few exceptions, when you can't use KATA:
- if you're a landlord
- if your tax identification number was suspended or cancelled in the same year or the year before, when you want to pay taxes in the KATA system
- if your KATA venture was cancelled in the same year or the year before, when you want to pay taxes in the KATA system
- if your venture is under liquidation
