I may be the only one who is retarded here, but whenever I want to try and find the BHW rules to scan over and revise, I really struggle to find them.

I've spent 10 minute now, and I still haven't found them. For some reason, it's second nature for me to look straight at the Nav Bar for the rules (I have no idea why) I think it would be great for everyone for them to be in the Nav Bar, especially new comers who aren't familiar with the site structure at all.

What do others think of this suggestion?

Also could someone kindly link me to the rules, I give up... I'm retarded...

I usually Google for blackhatworld rules

I like that idea. Just a subtlety that might make people take more notice of the rules. In the footer, it does appear as if they are the usual terms and conditions that nobody reads whereas our terms/rules are actually supposed to be read and understood. Thumbs up from me personally.

https://www.blackhatworld.com/help/terms/The Newbie Guide https://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/brand-new-to-bhw.261/ has some info as well.

Ahh yes the terms and conditions, I have never thought about visiting that page before,

It's at the very bottom of all pages.

Damn, I swear I'm that retarded I'm going to forget that in the future :D

Thanks, I completely agree, since they are the rules, I would add that maybe some formatting to make them easier to read could be in order, I think most terms and conditions on sites are formatted in a horrible way so they are hard to scan making people not want to read them.

Since BHW thrives on the rules, it would be cool to have them formatted into a more scannable way

Out of curiosity, are the terms and rules in the footer all the rules? or are the extra rules spread out around the forum somewhere?

That is actually a good idea as lots of people violate as they didn't pay any attention at all to the message that @Diamond Damien sends out when they join.

Having them in the Nav sidebar may help them out.

Wow man your avatar. You could’ve used LSD while creating it

I was thinking the top nav bar, but now you mention it the sidebar would be more appropriate. A centralized place for all the rules on the top level hierarchy should help a lot I'd imagine, well it would for me :D

Agreed, whoever created this had access to both a laptop and LSD at the same time, and this image was the outcome

Terms and conditions on the majority of well-used sites - such as Google, Amazon and Facebook are found in the footer. Placing them elsewhere would be counter to a standard layout and design protocols and where the majority of internet users would expect them and not in the left-hand nav.

They are a required field on sign up (I know ...... who reads them when you're itching to get onto a platform) and we also ask members to review and accept them frequently - the last time being around a month ago.

There are a number of great pointers in the newbies' guide which are well worth a read if you're unsure once you've read the terms.

Thank you for your suggestions but for these reasons we'll not be adding them to the LHS navigation.
