From $1 to Million - Forex Journey

Interresting! Sounds like a hell of a work!

But I am glad to know my trading makes sense somehow, even though I don't use any indicators on purpose, just reading the PA. But I guess, all that is written down in the indicators, anyway. I simply never used them, because the more you use, the more confusing it gets...so having a clean chart works out best for me(but I analyze a few indies during the weekends, into next week).

You are doing great with your LowRisk and HighRisk EA, so your way of trading works.

Maybe it would be worth the trouble for you to also reverse engineer your own trades like @kweiss did, though? It could help you become even better to understand the patterns you might subconsciously look for (if there are any).

Your ability to read PA comes from "training" you have given yourself. You are the indicator :). When you have read enough charts, you can pick up on what will happen next because markets are not random. Some call this gut feeling.

Yeah, I guess thats the best description of it. Its like speaking many languages...when you spend somewhere a couple years and pick up the language, eventually you speak it fluently, but you can't teach it, you can only use it...you don't know the grammar, why this and that, you just speak, it comes natural to you. Its the same with trading after starring at charts for many years...

I know what I do wrong...it always comes down to impatience and greed, so I need to control those. For me, its all psychological now, not to take every trade I want to take, but wait only for the best "signals". Its a neverending struggle!

Exactly my problem I mentioned earlier: I need to trade less!

[/QUOTE]

I just trade and ONLY trade when the markets give me a signal. No signal means no setup which means no trade so I sit on my hands. But there are so many pairs to trade out there that there is not a single day that goes by without the strategy picking up a setup. My current problem is actually trading less.

When scalping, asian session is the easiest to trade. Unfortunately I am in EU now and don't want to be up all night...but I think about moving somewhere, where I could trade the asian session during the day...easy money and stress free life.

Maybe Bali or Thailand for a couple months or a year.

Good idea! I am in Germany. So, I am stuck with the same EU time you have. The trading session is better than the US one though, IMO.

I don't like the London session...US and Tokyo are my favorites, so for me, living in the Carribean(or anywhere near the american continent) was the best for my trading. I had US session during the day and asian session in the evening...slept through London. But there are pros and cons for each timezone, of course.

I added the new one to myfxbook(private for now), but DD didn't update yet, I am very curious what it was, but I guess in the 20% range...got lucky with this one. *knock knock on wood*

My son is a self-taught forex trader for approx 3 years. He has been through the highs and lows of forex trading. He made bits of money here and there but then would lose it back to the market. His broker was very pleased with the proceedings!

Recently, either by luck or he has finally honed his skills, he made nearly £10,000 (USD 12,000) in a couple of days. This is the most he has ever achieved in such a short time. Previously, the most he has withdrawn is about £600-800.

A week ago, he withdrew £2,000 which went into his personal bank account. He made another withdrawal two days later for £7,000. All seemed fine until he tried to pay a bill. His card was declined. When he contacted the bank, he was told he was overdrawn. Turns out, the broker took back the £2,000 they deposited PLUS took every penny he had in his bank account. He had just been paid for his regular job and also had a recent tax rebate. Therefore, had several thousand pounds in his account. All gone.

He tried to access his broker's account and has been blocked.

He is resigned to not getting the money he made from the trades, but to steal his hard-earned monthly salary and tax rebate, is too much.

My question, is, what can he learn from this harsh lesson? What broker do you trust? What is the due-diligence process in choosing a reputable broker?

One lesson learned is not to use your personal bank account for business. The broker would not have been able to steal his money if it was separate. Second, immediately withdraw cash sent by the broker to a personal bank account.

Any other lessons?

This unfortunate experience has knocked his confidence. But, he said, the one thing they cannot take is his skill-set. He is determined to make it back.

I wonder if you trade crypto and tech stocks
Just shot you a PM
Good luck!

I saw in a youtube video a young lady trying to explain to people how she makes from $1 - over $10k by trading on a trading platform.
This is weird because if you are that good, what stopped you to start with $10 and make $100k or maybe start with $100 and make $1mil?
Why did she select $1 if she was 100% sure she can make more?
Trading is gambling, maybe you are thinking differently because you have access to all kinds of statistical trading tools which makes you feel like you can predict the future.

This story makes no sense whatsoever. Like zero sense...no broker has access to your bank account, in any way.

99% fake, unless she shows those stats on a 3rd party platform and from a reliable broker.
