How to accept payments via cashier's check from USA if the seller is from India?

Client is forbidden to use paypal or direct card payments by his bank in USA, he can only issue a cashier's check. strange but can't argue

"In theory it is possible .But in practice banks in India generally do not accept foreign checks ,It may take months to get it cleared and what bank will get and exchange rate are not clear ."

Yeah, it's only option I can think of right now but want to see if someone also faced such issue with their client and what steps he/she took to get the money
