I think he is the only multi-billionaire who successfully fools and manipulates the generation Z. I find his "visions" BS.

A human colonization on Mars is not possible in near-future, simply because no human would want to live there, it's after all a big cold desert where you can never breath fresh air or look outside without a protective glass in-between, it would be worse than any prison on Earth.

Economic exploitation of Mars or Asteroids can also be done remotely from Earth using AI, at a much lower cost.

Reducing the space transportation cost is indeed a very important step in any type of space exploration, which is what SpaceX is doing.

But Elon Musk is promising more than this. He is promoting himself with fake promises, hyping up the youth, creating his own cult of persona.
We can see today that he has a very strong influence among the Z generation, and can turn anything profitable by using this influence.

Overvaluation of Tesla is a proof of that.

In my opinion, it is the young stupid generation that idolizes him.
He has an engineering degree, he is not a pure marketing or PR person and he has already made interesting history before Tesla.
I've been reading about Musk for 10-15 years, even before all the hype.

And young people need a role model or hero. Steve Jobs is long dead, Tim Cook isn't so cool, so who's left? Lol

Love him or hate him, or like me indifferent I suppose. He has made a tremendous mark on the world and continues to do innovative things. I call that a visionary and he is one of the best. I think he is also a bit mentally ill, right? So a bit of mania can go a long way with an amazing mind behind it.

Elon has a BS in economics and a BA in physics , not an engineering degree.

The majority of his money is from Tesla shares, not SpaceX.

There was a thread about this recently: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/what-has-elon-musk-really-done.1299861/

He might be one of the biggest manipulators of our time, but i wouldn't call him a scammer. Some of his visions are pretty utopistic, but he single-handedly managed to reform a traditional industry with strong lobby like car manufacturing in a matter of a decade. You can't see stuff like this happening every day.

Before that he was the co-founder and major share-holder of x.com, which later became PayPal, so we can say that he had a lot to do with how online payment systems work today.

He might promise too much, but he's already done a lot.

In this sense you can call a lot of people a scammer, literally any politician. :)

The guy has a sense of humour and thinks outside the box.

The only thing that really confuses me is that out of all of the people on earth, all of the scumbags, all of the famous trash that have done nothing important and are just attention-whoring airheads, all of the corrupt businessmen and bankers, all of the people that have done something legitimately wrong.. somehow people still find fault in someone like Elon Musk, because his goals of getting to Mars might be unreasonable

Not to mention that the same people slating him are the people that are struggling to figure out how to earn $10 a day from spamming social media platforms.

Strange times indeed.. maybe more success will come for people if they try to learn even 1% from what he's achieved instead of critiquing his plans on leading humanity into inter-planetary travel. Just a thought.

I like him, i think he is doing everything to setup base on mars, will he be able to achieve it? only time can tell, but to setup base on mars he need to make alot of inventions that are better than we are using now and those things can ofc help us, like Tesla, he is the reason we are getting ev if not i wonder how many more decades would have had to wait for ev, and his batteries is helping replace peaker plants, only one operational atm and it has shown to be very cost-effective and green so there are many other wanting to get it, he is creating good solar roofing and promoting solar, and he has the cheapest solar in USA, he has a list of things he needs that will forever change our planet,

Cmon man, he's doing the best of the best compare to those greedy billionaires.

But telsa valuation is too much :( ... in 1 year stock moved from 200$ to 1000$ usd which is 390% ROI ...

How boring would this world be without Elon though?

Elon has real vision. Period.

What kid doesn't want to believe we can go to space one day?

You ever watch the jetsons bro and asked yourself, "I wonder if that's possible in my lifetime?" It is if Elon is still alive!
