Why would the mods ban you for contributing?
Unless it involves hacking and illegal stuff of some sort...

& this method is pretty old, i remember doing this years bak & that email already got closed by them, it's something that does not last.

I've done this today, same as this, but i only got 2 emails, first for my security code and second for my cccid. But i didn't get an email for for .edu email. Is this way working yet or not?
