Cloudflare I'm under attack mode | Can I keep it turn ON forever?

Hi

In cloudflare can we keep this I'm under attack mode forever to filter out bad ip's from our websites? My main question is if I keep this turned on it will harm to SEO of the website?

Can't say that how this would impact seo but for sure your site visitors will be presented with captcha verification.

I was wondering about this too, because the website takes a good while before it loads, doesn't it affect your sites rankings due to the slow loading speed?

Trusted crawlers are probably whitelisted I imagine. I don't know tho and I'm completely talking out of my ass.

From Cloudflare's own blog:

We've also designed the new checks to not block search engine crawlers, your existing allowlists, and other pre-vetted traffic. As a result, enabling I'm Under Attack Mode will not negatively impact your SEO or known legitimate visitors.

Thank you my friends. But we can also change that security level too? right? it has some options to select like this also..




IF I select this Low, Medium then it wont give this js challenge to all users? isn't it? It will give js challenge to filter out the bad ip's only, I mean looking suspicious ip's only. right?

Don't turn it on unless you are under ddoss attack....

I would recommend that you use the lowest security level that you can without overwhelming your server. If you are actually experiencing a ddos then cloudflare will protect you, regardless of your settings and if you are not experiencing a ddos you will annoy the smallest number of your visitors.

It will reduce your visitors and also sometimes crawlers won't be able to visit your website. Best to keep it turned off if your site is not under attack.

my hosting email me 8 hours ago and suggest me to turn on under attack mode, should I turn on now? I was facing slow speed for my website but it is ok now,

I have used in worst cases where the website didn't load.
If your hosts suggested it there must be reason for that.
You will need to check your site traffic in cloudflare analytics.
They show some data regarding traffic threats and threat region.
Check it and take your decision wisely.

If I was in your place I would turn it on for at least a day or two and check the traffic analytics.

In that case all looks good, so I don't think it's necessary anymore to turn it On.
