Do Migrated Websites Get Treated as New Websites?

Hello,

I have migrated my website to a new domain and have seen rankings and traffic drop but it has been restored to its original state before the migration but the problem I am facing is with the newest content I have added after the migration, nothing of it seem to be ranking or bringing any traffic, is this because of the migration or is there any other cause that might be causing the trouble? I still haven't crossed the three-month mark after the migration and my search console is telling me the migration is still going and it didn't end yet, so when should I expect it to finish?

New domain with a redirect from an old domain will see a boost from the old domain for a small period of time, but slowly the link juice will decrease. It won't be exactly as a new domain but it will lose a lot of its strength and rankings will come harder. With current indexation issues and weird ranking algo, it is a rather bad idea to do domain redirects. I myself have refrained from doing a redirect to a bomb domain I found for one of my websites. I even changed the logo to the domain I found but kept the old one and redirected the new one to the old one instead It's a weird time to do such big changes to working websites

Uhm, so you migrate site from one domain to another and you don't do a redirect? So you just copy content and start completely anew right? Okay.

I think you misunderstood something I`ve written. I couldn't tell someone to migrate a site without redirection because that just means duplicate content, but I`m not in favor of redirecting a working website to a new domain, just keep the old one for now, that's what I was saying

A good migration with everything done correctly & all 301s in place will mean minimal disruption to rankings.

I've done a lot, and you tend to have a day or two where you lose rankings / traffic when Google is switching the domains in SERPs.

Do it wrong, and well, yeah....
