Has anyone here had any experience reaching out to column writers for newspapers? Talking the Times, The Guardian etc

If so have you had any luck in getting them to write anything or have anything published?

Seen a few competitors mentioned in a few online articles and in print and id like to get in on the action.. I did think about trying it guerrilla style and just send them a product or two with a note attached and see if they take note and end up doing a write up about it as apposed to emailing.

Any thoughts welcomed..

HARO will get you quoted if you are lucky and that system is built mainly for accumulating backlinks from the news sites (at least this is the objective for SEOs usually) so if you are looking to get a full feature type of article then HARO is probably not what you are after. (But it’s still a great way to get them links)

Here’s a little trick for you:

Check the authority article sellers here on BHW and ask them to forward you their list + prices. Most of these guys have done the heavy lifting for you and they have tons of different authority news sites like Forbes, Entrepreneur and others, by this you have the sites and you can target the Staff of those sites with outreach emails.

This is what I did. I found a seller here offering an article for 2300 $ but when I contacted the editorial team of the site they quoted me 1000 $.

But sending free shit to journalists and hoping they would write about it is wasting your time.. especially to someone in The Guardian or New York Times - it’s not even viable idea.
