I use Chrome and Opera mainly but Edge is there and would give it a shot if I heard decent things about it.

Sure, thats what I use chrome for - but if I want to go ad free (for example while listing to music on youtube), I use Brave.

Chromium is a beast, so it always uses a lot of resources. If you compare an app created in electron js (chromium) or an app created in c++, electron js will always be the resource hog.

Just go in about:config and disable animations and disable pictures and put up adblockers and other things, its the best.

I'm on Mac. Switched from Chrome to Edge just because I don't want to help Google with more data, even though Microsoft is no saint. It feels identical to me, and is maybe a tad bit less resource-intensive. Don't see any other reason to keep using Chrome

I normally use chrome simply because I’m used to the interface.
Occasionally use Firefox if I need to log in somewhere with no recent cookies being present.

Rarely use edge, mainly because I’m just so used to Microsoft doing browsers badly.

Honestly, I really like the user experience of the new Edge. Now that they switched to Chromium it's probably my favorite browser, but not by a big margin.
I use Edge for personal stuff, Firefox for work, Chrome for my IM hustles and Opera / Vivaldi / Brave to be logged into different sets of accounts (YouTube etc.)

Performance-wise they're all very similar. If you bought your PC in the last decade, you won't notice a difference. Just try them out and see what feels best for you.
I also wouldn't care too much about comparison articles. Most of them are written by fanboys or claim questionable stuff like "Chrome eats all your RAM, you should use Opera instead". But it doesn't really make too much sense because Chrome simply preloads more aggressively which makes it feel a bit faster occasionally but Chrome will free up the RAM should your PC need it for other stuff.

Edit: If you're paranoid about Google / Microsoft collecting some of your data, obviously don't use Google / Edge.

That is the main reason why i use Brave (https://brave.com) - BTW: I am NOT affiliated with them - i just love the browser.

I am using Edge since it was in beta before it was officially released.
Things i noticed is, sometimes settings do have quite a noticeable lag.
and u have slight delays here and there when opening new edge windows and such.
Those little things should be iron out throughout the months/years i guess
At times i do want to go back to chrome, since does feel much more comfortable since then again, work PCs i use chrome and chrome majority of my life, so it still an adjustment period.

Main reason why i switched out of Chrome was
Google and privacy, just superstitions honestly.
I have tried Firefox in the past, just hogs resources for me and is pretty slow
Never tried Opera, never really had a reason to try it either, maybe one of these days
Bravo, never bothered with it, signed up for it since day 1

edge is da hot souse it can do all better... as much as i dislike MS EXPLORER AND ALL GATES edge just destroyed every one its just impresive
