Chess Puzzle

Ok, but if you read above in the thread, I tested this one earlier too.
It's not a 2 move win because black can move h1 bishop to e4 and make it a 3 move win for white.
I assume that's what you meant by "not forced", but that also means it doesn't fit OP's requirements.
It looks like you're not offering solutions, just looking to find faults in others'.

Like I mentioned in BOTH posts. This is not forced, but is a possible 2 move variation.

Do you understand?

No, I'm not trying to "find faults", I'm trying to find an "answer" to OP's question, which is the point of the thread.
Yes, I understand you entirely.
Yet, your answer is still incorrect.

Your sequence does not fit the criteria.
You cannot force black to make a mistake to finish sequences such as this.
It's NEVER done that way in chess practice.

Do you understand?

OP isn't asking for forced mate. That's a requirement you assumed from his post.

The only requirement is that white gets checkmate in two moves. In this variation it does.

If you read my previous posts, you would see that I already accounted for other in-between moves.

I'm not sure if there's a problem, but dude just take a second to breathe.

If you played chess, then you would know that you cannot force black to make a mistake to finish the sequence.
Have you actually done practice sequences like this before?
It's never done that way.

I reiterate, your answer is incorrect.

I'm breathing just fine, worry about yourself, thanks.
For the record, you're the one being rude here.

All I did was run a few tests through Stockfish chess AI. (although not at full power or length of time)

Its mate in 3 not mate in 2.

Rook to e3 forcing bishop to come at e4

Rook takes bishop on e4. Black can take with rook or bishop. The next move is mate which is queen to d5.

I looked at every variation the only way its mate in 2. If black blunders. Moving its rook or knight to e4.

I don't think it is possible for all responses from black.

Re3 check
If Kd6, Qxe7 mate
If Rook blocks, mate with Qd5
But blocking with bishop or knight will take an extra move to mate.

Bishop takes queen on d5 would be a response

Nope.

"If Rook blocks, mate with Qd5"

So that is Re4, and it gets in the Bishop's path. Hence, Qd5#

In chess puzzles analysis it is assumed by default you are looking for a forced sequence of moves (unless specifically stated otherwise, which is almost never) . It's because the nature of the game and its analyzing methods are based on assumed best possible defense by the opposing side to try and prevent you (the analyst) from achieving the goal at hand. If a chess puzzle was to be solved via assistance by the opposing side it becomes meaningless.

I'm sorry you're taking this personally, if you read my responses, it's clear that when I brought this variation up, the caveat was that I wonder if this was what OP had in mind.

I think we may be feeding a troll. Well played OP. I'm sorry I've hurt your feelings man.

If you'd like continue to assume I'm being a bad actor here, that's your perogative.

Please take a look at my previous posts, I'm pretty sure we agree that this isn't a forced mate in two, I was only trying to think of lines OP may have seen. I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I appreciate the rundown of how puzzles work, but if you read my previous posts, you'd see that I sort of have at least a vague understanding.

We're being trolled.

Nope.

You're right, I definitely I missed that. So far two possible 2 move checkmates if black doesn't play the best continuation.

We're all getting played.

OP do you have an answer, or do you just want to watch the world burn?

If I offended anyone, I really do apologize. I think OP needs to show us the solution. Most of us can't find a forced mate in 2 so now we're sort of fighting amongst ourselves trying to find the answer to a passive puzzle. Mission Success OP

I'm not offended and you didn't hurt my feelings.
I'm definitely not "taking this personally".

I also never said you were a "bad actor".
I said you were rude, which you were, because you seem to think I have some ulterior motive as seen here:

It looks like you're not offering solutions, just looking to find faults in others'.

You said this after you made a typo on your proposed chess moves, which made no sense, and then after I inquired, you edited it.
I am not in control of your keyboard, so if you make a typo, how am I supposed to understand it?

All I did was run some people's theories through chess AI software.
I spent my own time doing this, to contribute, and because I find chess puzzles interesting.
I do play a bit of chess after all.

I was simply pointing out that your proposed theory on solving this puzzle does not work according to chess standards.
I have no further intentions or comments other then that, and I never did.

That's fair. I came on too strong and I apologize bro. I can't pm, but for what it's worth, if you have a lichess account, feel free to pm me and we can play a few casual games.

I hate being made to feel small and hate even more when I'm guilty of it myself man.

My bad dog. I edited the post in a later reply because you pointed it out to me and for that I thanked you before and I'll thank you now. It probably seemed sarcastic at the time, but it wasn't meant to be.

We're all good buddy.
Not trying to make you feel small or anything like that.
We're all equals here.
Sorry if I caused any trouble for you.
