• The minimum wage is <$10 per month
• Highest inflation rate in the world - Over 3,000% annually
• Despite having the biggest oil reserves in the world, people have to wait in line with their cars for 12-24+ hours to get a full tank of gas
• Despite having one of the biggest natural gas reserves in the world, half the country don´t have access to domestic gas
• From the past 5+ years, we´ve suffered one of our worse electrical crises in our history. In march 7th 2019, we went for 110 hours straight without power. A few days later, 60+ hours. And, ever since we experience power shortages every single day and we spend anywhere between 2 to 8 hours a day without electricity
• This year marks 10 years straight with at least 20,000 murders
• And we also have one of the worse and slowest internet connections in the world (According to speedtest.net)

And, I can go on and on but these are by far our biggest issues we face every single day.

So I'm watching some interview on Youtube, and it's a guy talking taxes. The guy is a piece of shit, but he's intelligent and really explained taxes well.

But then he gets to a point where he touched on the tax situation as it relates to my country and the freelancers/people that work online.

He started by saying that for example in Africa there should be incentives for people to work online, as they have tons and tons of smart young people, but there is still not enough infrastructure to support all those people, and so giving tax and other incentives to those people to work online is a good thing.

But in my country, with an aging population, and with so many young people leaving daily, and with no immigrants wanting to stick around, the government needs people to work offline. And so it's a tricky situation for the government. They can't incentivize online work as they need people to work in offline firms and companies and all that, in order to keep the country running.

I've seen people comment here and there on Facebook about how our government actually wants us all to stop working online and to go working for firms offline and get paid some miserable salaries. I thought they were full of shit, it made no sense. But now it does make sense! Son of a bitch!

Having realized things... I've made a move to awaken some blood ties through my grandma, will probably be pursing a second passport soon through my mom's side of the family. And also will be pursing a third passport which I abandoned 7 years ago because I didn't understand what options having multiple passports will offer in this life.

Each time I watch documentaries on YouTube about your country and the situation it finds itself in, I feel very sorry for the poorer people there and also feel grateful for what I have here in Nigeria.

Nigeria is a very messed up country, we've never had 24/7 power throughout its existence despite billions of dollars invested in the power sector throughout. Still nothing to show for it because of corruption. We have lots of problems but not anywhere near what you just described.

To my understanding, the situation in your country was caused largely by socialist policies and all. I'm not well versed in this topic.
Waiting in line for gas means there aren't enough gas stations or what exactly!

Anyway, I wish your(country) situation would get better same as ours over here, even though I've given up hope.

This money are very easy to be converted into legal business in few minutes

For example, you are a freelancer you got paid on your Payoneer card, so you take money from atm in some neighbor country and you have clean cash.
If you want to get health care, and pay pension fond just use your imagination, for example, you can open firm for whatever you want and you can sell some products to yourself each month so you can pay your salary healthcare and pension fond, when you pay all this government will not touch you because they get their part.

Simply paying your income into a tax haven isn't enough to effectively reduce your personal tax a lot of the time. Corporate tax is pretty easily reduced with tax havens, but then you have a lot of them where any company bank account from one of those countries is pretty much incapable of conduction international transactions in an easy way.

Places like Malta are an exception, where you can have the two company system and effectively pay 7% (I think it is from memory), but Malta is not considered a tax haven and your funds are easily transferrable to whichever country you're in.

But then in many cases you'll have to worry about being taxed on dividends, and in your country you'll also be liable for personal tax at the rates of your country. Tax havens alone often don't massively reduce total tax - I mean, 7% is better than 20% or 30% by a lot, but if you're still paying 20% or 30$ on personal tax then the total reduction by using Malta isn't as significant, and setting up a Malta two company structure can also be fairly expensive.

If you're making $1M a year from a SaaS business or whatever it is, then the reduction matters enough to consider it, while the legitimacy of Malta provides advantages over jurisdictions like BVI or Seychelles, both of which are considered pure tax havens where using your company there for financial transactions into developed countries is much harder.

Reducing taxes legally is one thing, doing tax evasion is completely different.

But it's not just about taxes is it, not just about dollars and cents. There's also something to be said about ease of doing business and reporting and bureaucracy. In other words, do you pay 10% tax with minimum hassle required and freedom to use your money as you please, or do you pay 8% with heavy reporting and having a registered company and checks and accountant and collecting bills in order to reduce the taxable amount and your money locked in company bank account which you can't spend freely etc?

I'd say 10% with peace of mind all the way.

The problems you are describing are only viable if you are a US citizen, otherwise you have no clue what you are talking about. You can literally pay 0 taxes LEGALLY by incorporating in a jurisdiction that has 0 corporate tax (or very little, less than 5%), 0 dividend tax, 0 capital gains tax, free money movement (like Malta that you described), etc... When it comes to paying personal income taxes every year, you pay only on the salary you give to yourself. If you've never done this before, at least stop giving wrong advice to others.
