How many times should I link from a PBN?

1. Aren't we leaving a footprint to Google by blocking the PBN site to all the Non-Google bots via our robot.txt?

Yes, we are. Blocking by htaccess is harder to check automatically because they' have to ping each site first. So it's a safer route. Never really had problems with this.

However,r robots txt is a giving it away right away. They just have to visit the URL. I'm not suing this method.

2. If we are to build a quality site (WordPress, great theme, logo, terms, etc.) and publish quality content (at least a couple of niche-specific articles running to 500-1K words) per month), what are the disadvantages of maintaining them as a regular blog over a PBN site? Is it only because they can be found by services such as ahref, majectic and moz, or are there more reasons to know of?

You should attempt to have each PBN unit on the lever of money site.

Network of money sites is the ideal scenario compared to typical PBN.

Definitely no disadvantage aiming there even if you won't reach it.

3. Related to the above, if we are making them PBN sites, should we refrain from using Google analytics, GSC, etc. even if they are connected to site-specific Google account (e.g PBNsite1 is connected to [email protected])?

Don't use any of those services for PBN... ever!

4. You mentioned your mix is about 12K words on the home page and upto 30 OBLs which work well for PBN sites. At the same time, you said, it's always good to only link once to the money site while passing a few links to the authority sites from the specific niche. What about the rest of the links for a someone who's starting the PBN stuff for the first time. Should I consider selling those links to others from the same niche and monetize and is it possible to sell PBN links without revealing the actual site?

Those high stats apply for public PBN.

For private ones I usually have 1 link per homepage.

I wouldn't go into managing public network until you get some experience with private one. It's quite tricky these days.

What about hosting for pbn? Should it be fast one?
Is it Host 5 pbn units under 1 hosting plan?
Or is it always 1 pbn for hosting plan?

@tiiberius you should ask all your other posts in this thread also to merge into opening post, it helps in easier read. A golden guide, if read can reduce lot many threads by newbies.

It should definitely be fast and overall well peforming, yes.

You can host as many PBN units per IP as you want but make sure to cluster them.

@tiiberius

Thank you for the thoughtful guide.

I was wondering For PBN's what about if I use the bottom bar footer menu to link out to my money site that would spread across every page because it's part of the theme lets say? is That not recommended?

Also Do you hide your PBN's and if so how do I go about doing this?

Thanks

I don't quite recommend the use of PBN. I think it's best to keep it at 20% of the overall link profile.

I know a lot of people in here would not agree, but most of them would be posting "hate" messages about google and its policies later down the road.

If I was using PBN, it would only be restricted to support pages of no value. I will refrain from using them on my money-pages, especially now.

Its really useful for member who have tons of doubt to link their money site. Thanks a lot

This is pretty much everything you need to learn about linking PBNs.

You can do it but the point of PBN is to take advantage of context aka link within the article. Footer/sidebar links are weaker.

I had a custom plugin made that hides links from everything expect search bots.

You can also do it the other way around that you block all link checkers via .htaccess for example.

I agree with the percentage. Even 20% is unnatural though. In real world, homepage links are around 2% but it works at 20-30% max.

However, no problem linking to money pages directly. You will have hard time rankings for some tough terms using indirect linking like this.

1. How many websites usually you make for your PBN?

2. Isnt adding 1 OBL to your money site make it obvious that its a PBN? I mean a small website have around 5-10 OBL site wide to different resources distributed on different pages.

3. What CMS do you use for them?

4. Do you use domain privacy and cloudflare?

5. Do you add your websites to GA and Webmastertools?

6. How do you manage different websites and also hide your track? Do you have different PCs, Networks, Proxy, VPN...
I dont think its a good idea to login to different websites by chrome.

Google have made a system to make a profile for each internet user, They first made it to stop adwords credit card fraudsters and then you should combine it with their crazy ads tracking system. It makes it very hard to stay undetected. How do you manage to do that?

1. How many websites usually you make for your PBN?

Private ones 20-50.

Public ones are ever growing (at a few hundred now)

2. Isnt adding 1 OBL to your money site make it obvious that its a PBN? I mean a small website have around 5-10 OBL site wide to different resources distributed on different pages.

Can you rephrase that?

Linking out to money site is the only footprint you cannot hide, yes. It's also a necessity to pass juice so you can't really get around it.

3. What CMS do you use for them?

WordPress.

I also sometimes just re-create them which is usually basic HTML

4. Do you use domain privacy and cloudflare?

I mix it up.

5. Do you add your websites to GA and Webmastertools?

Nope. Never.

6. How do you manage different websites and also hide your track? Do you have different PCs, Networks, Proxy, VPN...

Logging it from the same location is not an issue actually.

You can use VPN if you are paranoid but it's not necessary.

The key here is to realize that search engines don't care about your PBN. Only exception are the big popular ones that they kill to spread fear.

What they care about is clean search results.

That's why PBN de-indexation always starts with a money site. All they have to do is check the backlinks of a money site that has done something that makes it stand out. And linking to it is one footprint you cannot hide.

I mean only 1 outbound link from your PBN website look suspicious, A normal natural website have more outbounds links

VERDICT: Recommended!

Wouldn't this be a big footprint if you have multiple pbn sites linking to the same money sites? (even if you link to other sites too)

I think if you have a niche related blog pbn (let's say 100+ posts), you can throw multiple links to money site inside the posts with no problems.
One question: do you think having one recurring same plug-in is a risky footprint? Also regardin that Google Algo that @GregFromMoonsy was talking about
I use WpManage plugin in most of them, that is the only common plugin I have. For the rest different Ip's, hosts, pro themes and plug-ins.

Simple and neat explanation. What about web 2.0?

Web 2.0 is a different game since you are are working with an inner page or sub-domain of a giant website.

In general, you can be less cautious and get away with it. (in terms of SEO, moderators is another thing)

Yes, it would.

If you use the very same set of PBN units for 10+ money sites you are asking for it.

Depends on whether the plugin leaves footprint or not.

I'm using some identical plugins for whole network without problem.

Other way is to use very popular plugins. For example: let's say you use Contact Form 7 for whole PBN. It's publicly visible and it's a footprint too but really weak one because of massive popularity.

What do you recommend? I have always done 1 money site per pbn unit - which is probably the best, but if you say (for example) 2-3 money sites per pbn unit shouldn't raise a flag, then I will try that. What does your experience say?

2-3 should still be OK.

Number of PBN units (network size) is important and also how much of overall link profile they are making.

If you have let's say 50+ units network and they all link to same 3 money sites it's once again asking for it.

That's one of the reasons I limit number of links target domain can have on our public network.

The Expert of PBn thanks for the useful guide

Glad you like it : )
