It's like every other day I see something about someone's PayPal getting banned on here, meanwhile the marketplace is full of people who exclusively accept PayPal. Occasionally some are like "sir i also take bitcoin" or "bro i have payoneer too" - yeah that's exactly what I want to do, dig up my payoneer login info from 2009.

How many people are going to have to take it dry from paypal until someone is like "shit have you heard of this thing called stripe? you don't even need to have a paypal to use it" then watch their checkout conversion rates +30% magically overnight

/2am rant. pz

Paypal is available in more countries than Stripe. And not every buyer is comfortable with BTC. People are using paypal because they have no choice.

Paypal for sure Using it Since 2007.
Also in India their is no withdrawal fee for it, as well as auto withdraw is done each 24 Hours.
Buyers have not to worry lot as they protected with dispute if they not get what they paid for.

on demand we use alternate methods like btc, skrill, payoneer direct bank transfer etc to accept payment from clients.

It is buyer protection that "make's it stay" so popular

It's really not that hard to understand it. The mentioned buyer protection is one reason, another one is that many people are still not comfortable to enter their credit card credentials on random websites. It's like a double layer of protection. One Touch or Express Checkout makes purchasing hassle-free and super fast. Many people have PayPal, so you can send money easily to other account holders. eBay is still a big marketplace, where the vast majority of sellers accept PayPal only. If you're used to paying with PayPal, ther needs to be a strong reason to pay with anything else, if it's an opton.

Personally, I haven't had issues from PayPal. But literally saw someone lose 200k to them on BHW recently.

Not to mention the hundreds of times I've seen it happen prior, the little guys get hit for 200-600 and can't do anything about it b/c PP is too big.

They held my $6k one-time, for a soliid 30+days. I got my $, but that's the only thing I've experienced with them.

Because it’s incredibly convenient and most people are able to use it.

Plus if you’re selling something legit you’re unlikely to have issues. A buyer even tried a chargeback on me recently but I sent in the evidence and they ruled in my favor. Many stories of people being locked out are due to them selling services which are banned on PayPal.

I find Paypal awesome as a buyer. I have never been cheated when I paid with Paypal. Never ever... and I do buy fairly regularly with Paypal online. As a seller, it's the worst though.

Also in India their is no withdrawal fee for it, as well as auto withdraw is done each 24 Hours.
Did you check the conversation rate(here's a clue, they rob you)? ;)

Because there well advertised and seen on most websites and on the streets of many countrys, so they just assume that the one ..

in the uk we even got paypal in our shops now.

even my local cafe has one

Paypal had the first mover advantage. It was the first such system out there, people use it since forever.

Also there's the ebay factor.

PayPal is much easier than any other payment method. Most of the buyer use PayPal and that is the big reason it's our first choice.

If I may add, there are quite a number of countries that banned or restricted Paypal

Talk about lost opportunities

The reason why PayPal is still alive is because of buyers, not sellers. PayPal's target market includes consumers and making them use PP as their default payment method online. Stripe targets sellers, not consumers.

It's popular because there's a PayPal money generator lurking inside jr.vip forum. :)

If Paypal is removed from the equation, much of the vendors and freelancers will suffer. One of my friend had to turn down a lot of clients just because PP limited his buisness account. Also, it's of equal interest to scammers because of 'buyer protection' policy which always works in their favour.
