Fair enough, but in either case, the fact that these people were "accidently" given half dosages adds to the weirdness and justifiable skepticism of it all.

I disagree, I assume the first dose was the vaccine, and the 2nd was the placebo, and was done accidentally. Thus leading to a half dose, as the effectiveness rate is based on averages, this would give a different result. I.E althugh the vaccine is 60% effective, that doesn't mean everyone has a 60% chance of it working, it means 60% of people who take it will be protected, the other 40% not.

That's why I ignore small sample sizes, and that's why they test on extremely large sample sizes to get an accurate average.

A sample size of 1000, yields 95% accuracy.

We will see if it's really safe within next year and the upcoming years. I wouldn't jump to conclusions so fast. I'm pretty relaxed about this. There are enough people who are willing to take it, so lets see what is going to happen.

Btw. I don't necessarily think it is dangerous. It might be safe. One big problem I see is media, which are definitely not objective. Like you will never hear the facts OP posted in his opening post from mainstream media...actually it is the opposite: They are creating a hype like "Oh who is going to get vaccinated first?!" (typical sales strategy if you ask me) and then "Historical day: This British old women got the vaccine first". From an objective point of view it is definitely weird.

I forgot to add that in, the media are not allowed to go against government policies in the UK as part of it's regulations, so they make their money by hyping it up instead. They have to take the positive angle because they cannot take the negative angle. I'm sure there are some exceptions to this rule, but generally they don't want to be involved in it, so they take the easy route and hype it up.

You can't say it's safe when it's never been tested in humans long term. mRNA was originally designed to focus on cancer treatments. Not vaccines.

But again, you cannot say it's safe if it hasn't been tested long term. That's like saying because you don't have any bad effects from 1 cigarette, they are completely safe.

There is a reason Pfizer wanted immunity, because they know it's not guaranteed to be safe, and they need to protect their self.

Considering there are billions of people on this planet and with all sorts of different variables that can impact a person's reaction to a vaccination or anything else, a sample size of 1000 cannot possibly yield results so close to 100%. Environmental variables, hereditary variables, pre-existing conditions, long-term variables, etc. There are far too many unknowns for less than 0.014 percent of the Earth's population to possibly provide a 95% accuracy rating on anything.

Your assumption is incorrect. This has nothing to do with placebo. If it's placebo, it would mention that. This is the actual vaccination being tested against varying groups of individuals.

For one, i am not overly convinved, It feels like a rushed unpolished project.

But at the same time, i'm not discrediting their work or saying it's not safe.
I'm just unsure.
Aus won't be getting it within the next few months anyways, but i know i will be taking it since, travel a must for my job so it really doens't matter for me, either option whether to not vaccine or to vaccine, comes with their own risks.

I would say even more than 1 year. I'm not taking the influenza vaccine so for sure I'm not taking this 4 month tested vaccine.

I don't accept this, it's a fact. I'm not stating an opinion here. 5% miss is still a lot in terms of billions of people. But they don't just test on 1000. I'#m just stating that its quite accurate with 1000, so this small sample you were quoting is not accurate at all.

I don't know why are they rushing a vaccine. A 100% effective vaccine takes years of trials. This is either just to make money or saving face. Chaos is real.
I'll not be taking a vaccine for at least another year.
