Damn, I always knew they werent accurate but those are pretty big discrepancies for both tools.

Brian sai we should use different tools and compare the results, but they have all massive differences between the ratings and results...

All of these tools, including Moz - are meant to be taken directionally, not as scientific fact.

The popularity of these tools came about after Google killed pagerank and SEOers needed some sort of metric to obsess over and to prove to clients that they were moving the dial - even if the traffic or results weren't showing it.

So now we have DA and backlink #s which are all gimmicks popularized by the companies that created them to push their own products, when in reality these are more vanity metrics. The only thing that matters is how much traffic is it generating and how well is it converting.

i use both lol. these tools just give some advice to discover some new keyword

Obviously, they are the third parties who are having their own algorithm to measure the metrics, so that the metrics will not give you the perfect same results all the time. But most of the SEO experts and clients will accept the results from these tools.

True sometimes ahrefs shows less Semrush shows more, and vice versa
