Mobile Hotspot v.s. Residential Proxy

I must be missing something:

US-based residential proxies costs AT LEAST $100/month for ~5GB

If speed isn't a huge concern, why not just buy a mobile phone family plan (~$30 a line for unlimited bandwidth or similar to that of the expensive proxy options), use the hotspot, and then you have full-control of your IP?

Besides speed, I don't see the upside of buying expensive residential proxies...

Also, if you are doing this to have fake social media account... if you have a mobile phone family plan, you're going to need those fake phone numbers anyway!

Why you need to pay for residential proxies, if you can install hoxx addon in firefox and get proxies, also residential proxies, from usa too for free.

If you want to stay anonymous and nobody should be able to trace your real location (the one of your 4G hotspot)? ;-)

The thing your missing is scale. You will only have access to that one address. If you use the proxies you can gain access to many IPs. Remember your paying $30 for one IPs / account instead of access to 1000's IPs on demand.
