Latest Google Update = My Site Bitch Slapped to Page 2 ?

Ok here's the deal.

My 4 month old website was ranking on the first page of Google in position #2 for 2 months.

I built 4 high powered links to the site (niche edits) at about the 2 month mark.

My site was slapped to page 2 today.

What gives?

i have almost same for one of my sites
4 niche edits
around 6 months old
today massive ranking decrease
don't think it is due to links, it is core update

That seems quite safe.

Only thing I can think is the link type itself.

But there's no data behind it. Could something completely different. Core updates don't go after specific things like this imo. Unless they release 2+ to confuse us.

yes I have been aware of updates....my position was moving up and down from #2 & #3 for a few days....then slapped to page 2.

I didn't know there was an update but i noticed a big jump in rankings in one of my site this morning.

If content is good, it will bounce back. Just do some updates to content and build few more backlinks

Yes the #1 position still in place.
My site moved to page 2 and there seems to be a reshuffling on page 1.

They are all high DR sites ( except for mine )
