Absolutely Nightmare- google faq on CLS

I've been fucking off big pictures, now I only use 640's max throughout the site.
Optimized themes for mobile. Like Newspaper
Also.. when I moved to Digital Ocean ( Vast speed boost) instead of migrating the whole site with All-In-One I have been moving everything via XML.
So I copied over just the XML for the theme and imported back into a fresh install of the theme on the server.
Exported the posts and media via WP XML
Man the difference in site size is huge.. the clutter you accumulate over just a year.
Now I dev the site offline on my server using Rank Math to get all green posts and move it to live using the above migration method.
But I don't Install Rank math on the live server now.
Oh and I don't use a TOC in posts anymore.
Also I use pure Wikipedia out links for context
Turned 3 sites from yellow to green in 4 weeks.. 10 more to go lol
So you use rank math to score everything on your website

I strongly advise you look at yoast pro...

Not everything and that wasnt the point , the point was I use Yoast or Rank math to do the posts offline then upload the post without the plugin.

Are you still using newspaper theme? I got many pages in poor status (Desktop) for CLS more than 0.25.

Did you see any noticable changes in performance after moving to DO?

I havnt got any problems with Newspaper, I like the fact you can use a a mobile enhanced theme alongside Desktop

Yeah I just Love DO's scalability system, no bells and whistles.
I was on NameCheap Shared before but now I'm getting alot more traffic I'm moving all my sites to DO. So far they are way faster.

BTW dosnt anyone think that its a good idea for Google to rank sites higher for page speed?
I'm Happy to get those shitty sites dropped low on SERP's who pay $1 a year for hosting.
$100 a month for lighting fast servers is nothing, if that means you rank 100 times higher than the 1$ or 5 x higher than the $20 hosters

Optimize your site at 99% as per PageSpeed Insights rules.

Add AMP and will fall.

Dont frighten me like that lol I've started using AMP for mobile pages lol
I am using it as well, it's good to obey the king, we are just small soldiers end of the day. All I am saying they talk a lot of BS, at the moment, personally I think they have no control over searches.

They basically say: Optimize your site as per PageSpeed but we will not do it for our AMP project because we don't care.

Moving to digital ocean help?

Moving to digital ocean help?

I think it works really well, like I said before DO has no bells and whistles if it just a WP setup you want, but the websites are much faster than anything I have used before. The idea that it dynamically scales as your needs increase is appealing as well, whether its a lot more expensive in the long run only time will tell.

Adsense is an absolute dog. How Google can penalise you for their own product being so crappy and slow has always baffled me.

Google has always been contradictory. If you follow their "advice" you get nowhere fast!

I haven't used their mobile enhanced theme yet. Are you getting any real benefit?
Also, what about ads placement? Are you facing difficulties when using different themes for different devices?

Please tell me where is the webpage that Google uses to get the metric scores please, I just re-read the whole article again, were they getting their scores from????

I just used GWC to see if I had any core vital issues, and pagespeed to check CLS after I made a few recommended changes, then back to GWC to tell Google to recheck CLS.

Cons of using AMP:
1) need to maintain 2 issues of the website.
2) look and feel of website can go wrong
3) separate treatment is required for placing the ads

Any of us here using AMP. Please share thoughts

No reason to panic... speed is not that important anymore (let's see December update tho). No need for AMP.
Vps like vultr, DO or Linode helps a lot with speed if you are an ADVANCED user (security updates, installing ssl, gzip compression etc). Add Cloudflare to that and your speed is super ok.

But focus on content optimization, it's 10x more important than speed.

p.s. all my wp websites are 95+ and load 0.5-1.5 s

I am using WP Rocket and cloudflare. Guess i will need to Host from Note expensive services
