Nah, we are not special agents, we just simply have to look at all things different in order to get to what we want.

Have in your mind that this one has 91.3K votes and almost 800 comments.

In 3 days 91K votes is around, lets just say that 250.000 people have seen this (I believe it's more).

Created just 4 months ago, it's already doing pretty good job on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit...

Lesson for today is, no, I am not trying to be a smart ass here, no, I am not trying to say how I know everything and how I am perfect.
I just wanna say, we think and we believe that everything is so hard, while in reality, it really isn't that hard to get to the point we all want.
One of our goal is to get as much traffic as we can and to make them stay and come back every single day, right?

This is a comic site, you don't need to go that way to get your site in front of millions users on Reddit!
You just need to be creative, that's all!

I bet that 90% of us here on BHW knows about adding damn text to image and how to do it, almost everyone has done it at least once.
But, fuck it... Why would something like "getting traffic", why would that be "simple" when we can create in our head wrong picture how, everything is hard, right?
I also include myself here.

Some things are so easy to do, it's even funny when you sit down and think about them.

You know... God knows how many times I said to myself watching at all these "successful stories" about this and that... Damn...
And I start thinking... I can do this and I can make it look better, I have better idea, I can use this for other projects too, etc.

We are making and creating different things to look tough, while in reality they simple and easy to do - period!

I said this so many times - In most cases, we lie to ourselves, things we should have done today we think like:
"Ahh, I will finish it tomorrow", week later, nothing has been finished, months later, yeah, still waiting on your lazy ass to finish that crap!

Until you say to yourself YES this is true, you ain't gonna get nowhere!
Get your ass up! Think straight! And just... DO IT!

Once again, just be creative...
And no, this ain't just about Reddit and just about adding text/your site/offers, etc, to images.
In general we love to make things look rough, in 99% we do this because of laziness and because we already know we won't do it, so yeah, stop lying to yourself!

And no, I'm not going crazy
If I can make just 1 person move their lazy ass today, I have done my job here

Reddit is specific...

I know you didn't ask for all this @KomonMam but I will explain so, everyone else can get an idea and maybe do something about it.

You have subreddits that allow direct link/offer/site promotion, which will generate some traffic but in general, I would say that 95% of people out there are just the same as you/me, looking to get traffic.

Other option which 99% of advertisers are running away from, is: (work)

Be smart
Get their trust
Play by their rules
Get sympathy
Create Subreddits
Get old subreddits
Use Imgur
Imgur Description Text
Watermark images
Imgur images + "More In Comments"
Give them the answers/help

Of course, it needs some time to get what we want from Reddit but once you hit that level, shit can be really good!
Once you have a few subreddits, activity, karma... Start messaging moderators, try to work with them and, try to get your offer/site whatever you working with on their subreddits posted by them, always look for larger subreddits than yours, if you have some money to spare that will also work.

We love to say how things are different today or "harder" then it used to be back in 2010 for example, the truth is...
Like everything else today, we have more people than ever working online, we have smart people and, to get success today it is all about "creativity".
Everything is the same, "methods" are the same as they were, now it's all about how we see things and how we do them.

Most of us should stop complicate (about everything). There are almost always easier solutions to get wherever we want / to accomplish what we need.

This is a comic site, you don't need to go that way to get your site in front of millions users on Reddit!

I've been playing around with the same technique about a week ago (assuming it's what you mean - watermark on content).
My campaign is basically to -indirectly- get my website name in front of potential audience, I create engaging social content (memes, polls, discussions) and I did notice some visits spikes, not much.. which is understandable, my main goal is just to get the name out there, some kind of a brand awareness.
If I'm missing something important, please let me know and thanks!

Trust me, there is a small or almost no difference between me, you, and anyone else on the planet when it comes to IM and "what can we do".
The only difference is when people rush and when people want to see things happen fast.

Basically, what I want to say (I'm tired as hell writing this)...
You need to create a plan, go day by day, build up your name on Reddit, get a few subreddits if you can, old ones with no active mods.
Create a few new subreddits and just play by the rules, here and there try to "cross the line" but don't do what you already know it is going to be hard.
Get a few more accounts, create or buy they are cheap.
The most unrealistic posts on Reddit got me the most traffic, things I never believed will get there...

Here is just one small example of, let's say 3 months' worth of traffic 100% just from Reddit!

It is gonna take some time.
Just continue, be active every day, try and help people out, be creative and all good things will come in time.

TOTALLY AGREE.
It just takes a plan and patience. I managed to directly post my link on the targeted subreddits and they all got upvoted really well plus positive engagement, using "sympathy" is the key here, and of course the quality of the content itself.
I haven't spent a dime on ads, yet, so until then I will continue this slow campaign until it's the right time to mix it with a paid one.

An informative text post on a larger subreddit combined with a carefully crafted comment from a reputable shill account has netted me over $50k in sales in one day. This was commission based so my take was not even close to that amount.

The success rates of these posts are 1/100 because mods are so onto it nowadays. But when you hit gold, it's a good day.

There's nothing worse than seeing one of these posts of yours start going viral.. only to be removed because of X Y or Z.

I noticed come reddit they don't say like site links,
but Like those Meme , Viral videos.

and come traffic is kinda " short bast of traffic " Only apply at most just one day or so
later after few days kinda no much traffic from reddit.

Can you give more info on this? Do you put direct URL of site in the comment, cloaked or just mention site by name and let users find it themselves? Or are you sending them to somewhere else than a site?
