the price of nvidia rtx 3080 is 700$ but on amazon they doubled the price :

1/- 1400$ source : https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Graphics-DisplayPort-Military-Grade-Certification/dp/B08HH5WF97?ref_=ast_sto_dp
2/- 1500$ source : https://www.amazon.com/PNY-GeForce-Gaming-Epic-X-Graphics/dp/B08HBR7QBM?ref_=ast_sto_dp
3/- 1600$ source : https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-10G-P5-3897-KR-GeForce-Technology-Backplate/dp/B08HR3Y5GQ?ref_=ast_sto_dp

ok in this case i will buy rtx 3090 with this price : price of rtx 3090 1400$

and the surprise :

1/- 1800$ source : https://www.amazon.com/ZOTAC-Graphics-IceStorm-Advanced-ZT-A30900D-10P/dp/B08HJQ182D?ref_=ast_sto_dp
2/- 2600$ source : https://www.amazon.com/PNY-GeForce-Gaming-Epic-X-Graphics/dp/B08HBQWBHH?ref_=ast_sto_dp
3/- 3000$ source : https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GeForce-RTX-3090-24G/dp/B08HRBW6VB?ref_=ast_sto_dp

are they joking or what?
I think it has something to do with all bitcoin miners.

Its simple supply and demand thingy - at the moment supply cannot meet the demand so the prices went up - once the factories catch up, the prices will be back to normal. AMD by the way already announced their cards that looks at least on paper better or at least on par with nvidia. So few months more and there will be very good offers for cards.

Just what I was going to suggest.

If demand outstrips supply then they'll up prices and people will still buy these items.

We used to see it on Amazon with a couple of products we sold and had 3 other sellers. When people ran out of stock, there was 1 seller that then added 33% to their prices and still made a few sales.

MRE's(Meal Ready to Eat) have shot up in price due to demand spiking, which sucks for camping. Before covid, I could buy 4 for like $20 on amazon, now 4 cost like $60.

its mostly inflated by scalpers.
just like whats happening with the ps5 and xbox x
the websites drop x amount, bots instantly buy the stock up for
scalpers, scalpers re-sell for a higher price.

I think that it is because of situation in the world there is a very high demand on GPU. I mean home office for thoose who worked in office + new lockdowns create a lot of new gamers (gaming niche is booming) + holidays are coming. Think that they need to sell all items before there are new one, so sellers don`t lose money because they could have had alredy bought items, so could just test if people will buy with higher prices

Exactly, not only in GPU also for CPU like AMD series 5000 run out of stock the first day!!
the solution is to wait for new stocks.

Supply & Offer, yes..
But can also be prices upped waiting to be discounted for black friday period

In general, I agree that there is a certain demand, but nevertheless, prices for almost everything that is bought in the world are now growing. Such a difficult world situation ...
yes, even trying to buy a car, imagine here in my country a mercedes c220 module 2000 cost 9000$ and even 11000$. usually it cost about 6000 7000$...
that was my point of this high prices in everything.

Used car prices went up here as well, it seems worse than 12 or so years ago when there was a "cash for clunkers" program where the government gave money for people to get rid of their old cars and then the car had to be destroyed.

MRE's have always been hilariously over priced, the price today is just jaw droppingly stupid. But this pushed more and more people to learn how to make their own MRE's, creating a newer fairly large niche. It's been pretty cool to see.

What i dont understand we r living in crisis where a lot of people have no jobs and no money left and yet the prices arre going higher in everything!! i thik they trying to terminate the poverty (no more poor humain)

I love how HotWheels scalpers are now entering the NVIDIA scene mwahahaha

Scalpers are the consequence of people who want everything NOW. Of course you can wait few months and get the GPU cheap, but hey I want it and want it NOW - if thats the case, well you have to pay the price. The beauty of the market economy.
