The point is not to buy the card in the first few months after the release, not to wait a year or two:D Also 2080ti are on sale now lol :P

MRE's have always been hilariously over priced, the price today is just jaw droppingly stupid. But this pushed more and more people to learn how to make their own MRE's, creating a newer fairly large niche. It's been pretty cool to see.

The prices seemed cheap in 2019, I don't really remember before then because I never purchased any before then; I think I saw 12 packs going for something like $150 to $160 10-15 years ago. The non-us ones haven't gone up much in price since they were already much more expensive, so when I go camping I'll probably get some non-us 24 hour ones since they taste better and aren't that much more expensive.

Military MRE's are actually really really bad prepping food if you aren't extremely active, due to the salt content.

What i dont understand we r living in crisis where a lot of people have no jobs and no money left and yet the prices arre going higher in everything!! i thik they trying to terminate the poverty (no more poor humain)

In the U.S. The stimulus check and bonus unemployment payments led minimum wage people unemployment to make nearly triple what they were making while employed, many of them decided to buy things with it. There's a electronics retailer here called Best Buy and it was nearly empty of pc gaming hardware for months because everything would get sold the day it was restocked.

They are built so your shit is as solid as board. It's for combat after all. You need to drink an extraordinary amount of water if your meals only consist of MRE's. Yeah but even 10-15 years ago the price is extreme, as MRE's don't cost that much to make. Aftermarket military and civilian MRE's have always been marked up by a lot (and it has to do a lot with government contracts and locked in pricing). If you were to pay for an MRE based on it's real cost it would be less than 2$. No one ever does or can of course.

If you are in the know (like know the people at your local armory) you can snag them free of cost when the military cycles out expired MRE's for new ones which is every few years. I had a shitload from my local armory when I was an air cadet.
