I have recently acquired an authority blog with high DA (76).

The thing is, it is currently losing money and I don't know what should I do next..
The forum is very old, and an Iconic website in my country.

I have tried google ads (Which is not safe because the site can get a google penalty at any moment because it contains sexual content), Header Bidding, tried to do a local campaign for leads (which failed terribly, no idea why)

the Forum is very broad in it's topics, and contains right about everything from politics, WWE wresteling, to lesbian forums.

My next Idea was to turn it into a giant amazon affiliate website, and sell to each thread specific items. but the question is what should i sell to such broad topics?

I would love to hear your thoughts about this, thanks :)

If there's a market to sell to lesbian wrestling politicians, you might be in luck.

If you're going to open up to a diverse review site, you're going up against Spruce, Wirecutter etc. This will mean your DA 76 won't count for all that much, unless you are putting on hundreds of new articles every month.

I'll try looking for some wrestling gloves for the lesbians, preferably with Bidan's logo on it, hopefully it will earn me some bucks :)

The whole idea is not going against those big branded websites, but to sell items that are specific to the threads. for example, I have a gardening thread, maybe I could sell them some tools for gardening using amazon affiliate program? Do you think it would work?

Yes, selling space for ads is the 1st thing to do in my opinion.

I could do it, that's actually a solid idea :)

With 40.000 visits per day, let's say you get 10k unique, that's 300k/month.
If just 1% of those 300k get your "monthly" membership which, you should go for cheaper option for first few months, maybe even a year just to see how things goes, you don't want to drive people off the site, let's say $5/month for example, that's 3.000 x $5 = $15.000 month!

Of course, this are just number game :) It can be less, it can be more then 1% or 3.000.
Anyway, sit down and do some math, see what's realistic price.
Also, ad space is another stream of income...

use display ads but don't use adsense directly. Maybe a mediation partner like Ezoic, adthrive or hooligan media from @se900se .

At this point I'll suggest you go with hooligan media. Get in touch with @se900se see if he has anything for you.

To be frank people will only pay for membership if they benefit a lot from it.

See what I'd suggest if you must go with paid users as an option, use a display ad network for none paying users while ads won't be displayed to users who are paid. something along that line.

Give premium members something special. Like a special section.

I have to say you are on spot with your math! thanks for your input, i appreciate it :)

Memberships, pushing your course or whatever, threads.... copy BHW strategy ! :)

Thanks for the reply, however I don't think a premium section would work in this website because the topics are very broad, unlike BHW.

With 40K hits on a daily basis, you'll bank hard with Ad slots. Affiliate banner is another option.

I believe you've set up a newsletter system too.

There is a limit to how profitable Adsense, Ezoic and even advanced header bidding can do.. unfortunately because of how broad the topics are, in a test we made the conversion rate with header bidding was 0.03% (and the positioning really fucked up the experience). Affiliate banner is a good option which I'm considering right now, but I'm thinking I'm going to directly inquire to people who want to sponsor a specific forum which correlates to their business. thanks for your input! I appreciate it :)
