Made $30 on two articles today

cunningly good idea !!! Let me give the first to give you the first thank for this @@@

Hi Red, hey I was curious about, if person views my 4 paged article how many PVs I would get.
I am askin becoz, today I used a different browser & proxy; & viewed all of my article's last pages. I have published 26 articles 5 of them are of 4 pages. Usually my daily PVs are around 35 or so. But today I got 76 PVs. Even if I add my own 26 PVs I should I've got around 50-60.:p
I was just curious, If is it so, then publishing a directly copied article of max pages as performance only would be great for boosting PVs.

@ verve22 -- Thanks much for the contribution. The first link doesn't appear to be working though.

@ tchashow - As long as you aren't promoting them that way to your fans, favorites and the AC community, yes. If other AC writers sense at all that you're BS'ing them in order to get views it could get kind of ugly. :D

Using Twi*tter or Face*book as an example, the more controversial you make your posts, the more clickthroughs you'll definitely get. There's a lot of "flag happy" members on YA so I'd be careful with it there though. If established YA members flag your answers you can get insta-banned (which is bullshit in my book).

@ prasenjit - Yes, if you have a four page article you're credited with a view for each page as long as the reader views each one. Just skipping to the last page doesn't credit you with views for each page though. One thing I've done in the past is add a few extra lines to short articles in order to assure that the reader will have to go to a 2nd page. That doubles your PV's for that article right there (as long as the content is interesting enough for them to want to finish reading the article).

As far as using a different browser and proxy to inflate page views, the views will be counted initially but many of us have had accounts banned in the past once AC staff actually review the PV's. I won't say don't do it, but just be aware that it could lead to your account/s getting banned (it depends on how closely that particular staff member looks at your account each month).

When you say "directly copied article" do you mean other content that's found online that fails Copyscape? If you do, they typically pull the article from publication and ban you for plagiarism even if it's submitted for perf. only.

@ seosutra - Thanks for sharing. Merry Xmas to you too!

@ CMS2009 - They just stopped a few weeks ago mainly because of so many people rehashing news stories readily available online. They also stopped because news stories aren't evergreen so they aren't exactly the best performers for page views.

Cheers,

Red

thanx red. I've definitely being doing this on yah*oo ans*wers but i make sure to ask a question so it seems like I'm genuinely trying to find an answer and not trying to make them click my link. :D yah*oo ans*wers can generate a good amount of traffic though. and its easy to get higher levels. I just post questions and then I go back with another account and answer them and chose them as the best answer later. i wonder will i eventually get caught because all my best answers are by the same person. well we shall see soon!

No problem,

The way I do it is to have have 3 YA accts just to ask the questions and then 1 acct to answer and build points with to make my urls clickable asap, that way it looks a lot more natural that "different people" are choosing me as best answer. I also do some answering of other peoples questions with all 4 accts to make things look more natural as well.

hey thanks red! might give that a try! i didnt realize my urls werent clickable until today. I read something earlier that let me know. That gives me a lot of hope because I've just been posting questions with links and I'm not level 2 yet! I still get a fairly decent amount of traffic though. I can imagine how much I will get when I reach level 2. i should be there by tomorrow.

Thnx for the reply. Yes I was talking about the same. But what if we submit them as Non-exclusive & Display only. It will suggest that it already has been submitted elsewhere. So no question of plagiarism:confused:. Its also possible becoz after quite a few submissions "Performance only" can be published immediately.

Hey Red,

After taking a bit of a break from AC I'm back now and want to get back into it full time, but having trouble finding new rewriters (all my old ones are unavailable). I created a new GAF account and tried to post an ad with a free trial, but it had to be approved, and it was blocked because it was a 'full time' project. Do you have any ways to get around this, and suggestions for other sites I can use to find rewriters, but with no fee for advertising/free trials?

Thanks

just dont mention the fact that its full time. once you get responses, send a small text file to all the applicants outlining exactly what you need, including contact details (using a text file swerves the "no contact details rule")

use a throwaway name and email address in all your dealings on there, that way you'll feel less pressured to pay people for substandard work, cos believe me for a while you will get it

ive been through about 8 re-writers now, and they all throw me up absolute shite. Gonna go look into the phillipines shortly, a lot of people have given good reviews on fillipno re-writers (good grasp of english)

ive had a real bad time with indians promsiing the earth then being drivel. One guy didn't have a spell check function, but couldnt see why this was a problem. Got a sad story about how he spent all day doing my ten articles, and now wouldnt have the money to buy rice to feed his kids. I felt sorry for him, but not sorry enough to pay him when he sent me the shit that he did

sorry, rant over

The thing is I always used to post similar ads and they didn't have any issues, I've edited it and will see what happens now.

Yes I've had similar experiences to you, but now tend to ignore a lot of bids based on the messages they include with their bid simply because of the poor English in them.

@ tchashow - No problem, yeah, once your urls are clickable you should notice a nice difference in how many views you're pulling from YA. You know how lazy people can be about copy/pasting urls as opposed to just clicking it. ;)

@ prasenjit - Just to clarify, if an article is submitted as non-excluisive and display only it could have previously been published elsewhere, but the original article has to have your exact authors name on it in order to not be breaking copyright laws. They do automatically publish it, but then when it comes time to payout they'll yank the articles down and at times ban the account. Here's a snippet from their guidelines about it.

"If your content has been published elsewhere, make sure you still own the copyright to it and the byline matches your real name or byline on your AC account."

If it's your content that you're wanting to publish with AC then you're good to go. :)

@ Dodge - Good to see you post up again. I'm not sure of any others that have free trials, but I had posted up a list a few days ago here that you can try. These 3 are for hiring Phillipino writers specifically - onlinejobs.ph, bestjobs.ph, fulltimeassistants.com.

@ CMS2009 - You definitely have to weed through some crap rewriters before you find the gems. The 3 sites I listed above should work well if you're wanting to hire people from the Phillipines.

Cheers,

Red

From an ewhore to an AC....uh writer! I am now branching out!

redtide1969 has given a ton of help on AC! Big props!!!

lol cool deal, glad to have you from the ewhore ranks ;)

I hope you kick some ass with it!

I thought I'd hijack my own thread for a sec and post up a motorcycle vid my niece and nephew and I shot up in the mountains of Idyllwild Ca. This stretch of road is just amazingly fun to ride. Everyone who knows me knows my main passion is riding and track instruction (26 years now, knock on wood). If you like motorcycles put it in full screen mode and crank up your speaker volume. :D Mods: If it isn't cool to have something unrelated to my OP, feel free to delete ;)

lol here's a trivia question I'll throw at you guys for a little break from AC. At 4 minutes into the vid I noticed I slowly creep past a "speed checked by radar" sign. The speed limit in this corner is 35mph. Whoever guesses the closest to the actual speed in mph/kph (I swear officer it wasn't me) gets a copy of the book (if you have it already I'll give you an hour of 1 on 1 AC support ;) PM me the answer though so we don't clog up the thread. lol can you tell I've been drinking tonight getting ready for Xmas?

lol have fun

Great thread and help, cheers Redtide :D.
Doing alright atm, got a question though: doing articles on specific niches is all good, but since AC gets it's money from views do your niches/article keywords need a decent search volume before it can be accepted for upfront?
Thanks again and @ everyone: merry xmas! ;)

Cheers xiao xiao! ;)

Search volume is nowhere near as important as competition levels from other AC articles, but as long as a topic/keyword has at least 500 monthly searches you know it has enough volume.

I've talked a lot about some of my highest upfronts coming from REALLY obscure niches/topics, more of them than I can count have had really low search volume (as little as 50 searches a month). In the eyes of AC, the more searches a month the better but uniqueness is much more important.

Merry Xmas btw!

Hi Red, posting in your thread after a long time! Sorry about that!

I had seen this video some time back when we were discussing motorcycles. :) But to write about it now has a special mention... it was just yesterday that I saw the Yamaha R1 for the first time "in person"!!!

It's a very brute-looking and a very beautiful machine... what I call a real futuristic bike! I loved it and was seeing it like it was some kind of a Sci-Fi gadget (read: G-O-D!). Some kid in the front apartment building has bought it... lucky stinking-rich guy! The bike costs nothing less than a cool bag-load of money in my part of the world.

But I would say that I love the feeling that a really good friend already owns it... you! WOW, what a bike to have!!!:drinking2

P.S.: I guess the bike's flight-speed is around 100~110 km/hour (I'm guessing it to be s-l-o-w as it is a zig-zag turn) and the car that's coming in is around 70 km/hr or so. If I'm correct in my guess, then you can use that 1 knowledge-filled hour as my C'mas present on some other guy/gal who really needs it! :) Would love to be absolutely right for a change! lol.

I guessed it from the initial acceleration (seen from the windshield of your car) and the bike disappearing on that first turn to be around 120~130 Km/hr. If that's visualized correctly then the next part shows the bike slowing slightly at the beginning of the Z-Z turn to around 90 then picking up again a bit more at the sign board... I still would NOT "guess" the speed to be any more than this as it is a busy zig-zag road and no sane biker would fly that condition dangerously (for the safety of others) at more than 100~120 k/hr max... even if it is the great Red himself!

I must be appearing "heady" here without actually drinking... but seeing your bike doesn't require a drink to get "heady" though! :D

WOW again!:drive:
