My brain.
Had to manually find and break the chain. Some weird-ass clown virus was creating random files all over my partitions.

Try using MalwareByte .
Never had a cause to install an AV ever since I started using the app.

I used to work there! The scanner is really good and so is the remediation (cleaning up infections)
For prevention... not so good lol
But either way good product, horribly run company

Windows defender might not be so good for scanning but its very effective when it comes to runtime
It's the hardest AV to bypass on runtime.

Speaking of antivirus, I had a situation this evening with a server that I manage. Somehow the server disk had grown to 850GB.
Checked in program data and found that Avast had generating around 1.2 million log files totalling around 765GB in size!
So windows defender isn’t the only bad antivirus out there.

When you download a file that is infected with botnet/rat/keylogger etc and you scan it the AV scan come out clean but when you run it it will be detected as virus.
