Hi there,

I wonder if Bing Ads are still good for affiliate marketers in 2020?

I heard that Bing don't put much restriction on affiliate offers and their compliance department is pretty lax.

However, I sell the dietary supplements as an affiliate and it turns that my KWs are super targeted, e.g. "supplements brand review", "supplements brand ingredients", "where to buy supplements brand". etc. so my concern if these KWs are allowed and won't conflict similar ads queries by the vendors/manufacturers themselves.

Has anyone experienced the same before?

Thanks,
M

Hi Lads,

So I've been in this Bing Ads journey since a week now and made my first sale last night lol. Didn't expect any conversion that fast but there we go and I am pumped to hit upcoming weekdays with more joys.

I wonder if someone has had an experience in running a Bing Ads campaign over the weekend? I take weekends off and pause my ads during Saturday and Sunday but have heard there might be some solid reasons to keep it on the go on weekend too.

My niche is dietary supplements and I am not sure whether it's among hottest verticals for weekend campaigns so that the prospects will interact with an ad.

Many thanks

In the same Niche, pause my campaigns on weekends too as wasn't getting conversions, maybe people are more in research mode weekends?

As for using supplement brand names, I would check with your network and the vendor itself as many forbid brand bidding and you can lose your sales and even get your network account banned.

Congrats on you first sale! Is it worth it at the end? I don’t have much experience in running ads as in the past I had managers who will do it for me but in general the spending was so much compared to the sales so is had them stop the ads. May be they didn’t know how to run them?

Good spot. I run an Ads campaign for supplement brand names without mentioning the brand names themselves (use collocations like 'best brain supplements' instead). I just set up a few ad extensions and check what ad bids best.

Thanks mate! I mean I don't think it is worth it as of now. I spent over $50 of my funds and redeemed a $100 worth coupon the Microsoft team gave me on it. That would make me $25 in sales lol but I guess my niche is extremely saturated. I am gonna give it a few more rounds but might stop them as well given the overall spending.

How can PPC be used for affiliate marketing?
You set up an Ads campaign and link it up to the LP with a compelling sales copy. Make sure you find a reliable vendor first to promote the product without any troubles

I guess so... They ain't good enough

Hey @fxkool I've run ads on the weekend and while I agree that yes, conversions are slower, I still get them. Right now I've tested Amazon and CPA. I haven't seen conversions on weekends with the CPA campaigns I'm running but I have with Amazon. Over the last 4 weekends I've had 63 orders from Amazon so as I reflect on the possibility of pausing my campaigns on the weekends, that's 60+ orders I would have lost out on.

My thread where I talk about this is here: CPA $160 and like you I was super pumped to get my first sales. Amazon as I explain in the thread was completely unexpected and I've just continued to run from there.

All in all I'm just sharing my experience but my advice is don't simply just rule out weekends. There's money to be made "every day of the week".. weekends included.

Hi mate. Yeah I know your thread, been following it for a while now. Actually I didn't rule out weekends but decreased a bid by 40%. The entire campaign keeps running well but with an adjusted bid so I might start seeing some orders come in over the weekends too. Cheers

Hi @bhcg101 - long story short, I made my first sale last night which is the weekend lol. My CPC is around .15-25 which is a good deal for the converting products.

Ahh okay, thanks for the clarification. I stopped all of my adjusted bids.. just found that I didn't need them "for the most part". Now there were a few exceptions where it made sense on a product(s) that didn't convert at all on desktops so I decreased bids for that at -90%.

As keywords I don't think there would be any issues with that

Microsoft ads are still good and have the best buyer traffic as long as you know what you are doing

Am currently running my ads on Bing only as AdWords keep blocking my account.

I have made some bucks from Bing ads. It's still working. You can get a conversion just 2hrs your ads is live.

For weekends don't pause your ads on Saturday because from my little experience.
My best conversion as an affiliate marketer has come on Saturday. I don't know for others.

The only problem people have with Bing Ads is they always block people accounts.

But there is a method for it.

For your dietry supplement. You can sign up with ahref group buy. It's just $7 -$10 and get high converting keywords for your offers.

Regards!

Bing ads are great because their audience skews older. Two factors that help are 1) older = more money and 2) less savvy online so if you have a good offer for their needs they will take it.

Your stats looks pretty impressive. What is your product if you don't mind?

If you read the TOS of many products / vendors it will specifically say not to use their product / brand name keywords in PPC campaigns. SEO wise they don't care, but when it comes to PPC they don't want Affiliates reducing the profit margin and increasing cpc costs of their own brand bidding advertising campaign.

There are product owners that don't care if you do brand bidding, but its best to check if that's the case.

Some Affiliate networks like Moreniche, market health etc have a ban on brand bidding for every product they run. Click bank leaves it up to the product owner, for example Resurge specifically bans brand bidding, its in their TOS.

It only takes a minute read the TOS or shoot an email to the Product owner to find out if its allowed or not.
