Does image copyright really a issue? If so, let's say someone pays for an image and used in their blog and I download it then use it on my blog after changing image name,alt text,etc.

Does that create a copyright issues?

Yeah. There are websites where photographers can sign up, and they will get a notification if their software finds their image somewhere on the internet. Then you'll automatically receive an e-mail from the software to pay a fine.

Years ago I had a client that used a 400x400px image in their site without a license (site wasn't made by me, I inherited it). Did SEO for a year and a half and once it started ranking really well consistently they received a legal notice by lawyers in their country. They paid a few thousand dollars fine for using that image for x-amount of years.

I am pretty sure that won't happen, but it's better to use unique images in any case. Fresh and unique content is highly preferred by Google and will lead to better rankings versus using copied images from competitors. Easiest thing to do is to crop the image a bit, put a black layer with opacity on it and mirror it or whatever.

Glad to know this since I have a site copying other's images lol, yeah I am wondering if technically there is no option to DMCA images copyright via Google, unlike the articles, we know there is a way to submit DMCA to Google directly, I don't know images though. Anyway, its still a good news to copycat like me lol.
