My county is in lockdown...

In my country, things are getting worse day by day but general public dont give a flying f**k about it.

This.

Certain unnamed "nasty" ppl would say it is all just for testing more. The US wanted to be #1 again at something so they tested their way to all these cases and to 200k deaths. If they would have just tested less... /s

I don't know how it works else where but the UK recently opened up online test booking to anyone. So people are just booking and taking up slots for people who "may" need to be tested. It's opened it up to all the people with an itchy nose to those who are paranoid about getting the virus taking tests.

There needs to be a layer of checking before that to OK it but then it comes to man power, time and money. There's been plenty of reports of people having to drive 50-200+ miles in order to get a test as they can't get one locally. Now if your supposed to isolate what is the point in sending someone that far other than to spread it (but thats tin foil hat territory)

I'm not really sure what testing proves or the entire point behind it. If you have you have it, having a test done ins't going to change it.

My wife argument is that it's down to the fact if she goes for a test and has not got COVID she can go back to work quicker BUT either way due to her symptoms she would have to self isolate anyway for X time frame.

Take the NHS site to me it's all structured to "take a free test" the way it's all been put together I hope it comes with a free toy or at least a sticker to say "I've been tested"

Yeah, the issue is , if you do not get a test and you may be asymptomatic you just infect lots of ppl. Obviously the same as you read stories that parents sent their child to school knowing it had covid symptoms and all.

The issue is obviously testing capacity needs to be much higher in many countries, especially the ones that have the highest case rates/infection rates.
Just as with everything else around data, it is what you do with it that matters. Looking at the R factor it does not matter if you test 1 MM, 10 MM, etc, you want this to stay low to have any meaningful improvement to the situation.

I mean not saying it is the worst but seeing how the UK handled their response, is just vastly similar to the US that I am by no means surprised by the spikes, and all the chaos.

In Germany, we are getting more cases too. However, we just allowed people into football stadiums and there will be 20k people allowed watching F1 in the Nürburgring GP in three weeks.

Looks like to me the people already have some kinda "immunity" over here. Death cases dropped significantly, almost non-existing. Most people who die are over 80 years old. The average age of deaths: 81 years.

Jesus... so from 6pm tomorrow my county will be in "lockdown" due to the sudden rise in a short period of time of cases.

Well fuck me if you test more people this will result in more cases. The logic behind half the governments decisions makes no sense at all.

The end.
I know it's not funny and I have reacted with a laughing smiley... But then, the lockdown stuffs have become laughable now. Atleast you have a tentative date range. My state government now a days announces lockdown days "on the fly". 25 days out of 30 days are normal. 5 days out of 30 days are lockdowns, in random that is. This is stupid obviously, but I don't expect anything better from stupid governments anyway.

Take care man. Deal with the virus. Don't depend on the government, I guess. Also, don't pay a hefty fine for going out in the lockdown. ;) :p

I hope everything will be better. I wish healthy days for the whole world as soon as possible ...

I've been hiding out in Scotland since earlier in the year. The numbers here were looking pretty good I was considering going back to a major city until the end of the year but it didn't last long.

We've new rules coming in the next few days as well. Oh well, guess I'll sit and be productive.

Aren't we even healthier these days? ;)

We almost fought a new stupid virus off. We now have new T cells that never existed before this virus got unleashed. Just wish that not many of us remaining die now. ;)

Actually we are not fighting Covid; We try not to get caught ...

We are listening to you; please tell us the big picture?
Why should I? Am I Charles Darwin? It's Darwin's theory, i.e. Survival of the fittest. Go research!

The uk got virus bad at the moment and where expecting 50k cases a day, but if we have full lockdown it might stop the virus growing, but looks like government are more interested in economy so where see what happens it in government hands wright now.

The death rate not high but still here but that might mean this is a lighter virus attack hopefully.

The flu is part of this virus spreading high.

So uk got high virus but low death rate.

according to tv the virus will hit uk hard 2 weeks time if there no lockdown .

Can laugh as much as you want I'm the one with a 6 months siege cupboard of supplies makes no difference to me.

As much as it's not nice to do when I didn't want to speak to people when walking the dogs I just coughed and pointed at myself and people walked away - was like a super power I never knew I needed. I know I'm an ass hole

If the economy crashes; people go down to the street and there is chaos. It should manage them all right together ...

To be honest, the trademill was for losing weight in the mid section... Coz u kw, married people can't neglect more sexual opportunities. (J/k...j/k) :D

As for fighting the shit virus off, we are gonna do it eventually. Herd immunity is gonna work again, mark my words.
