A few weeks (or months - everything is a blur this year) back, I read a news item (forgot the country - does anyone know?) related to lockdown, where if you were out without good reason, you were hit with a cane (unofficial bonus) and then hit with a fine (official) by the law enforcement. ;)

Don't blame you. We got some tweaks to do to get our house planning approved and work can start on that - hope to get as far away from everything as possible. Not due to the virus it's just how Id prefer to live. We looked at remote parts of Scotland but it's too far out for wife..

If you can find a supplier who has any. What you would be better doing is start collecting scrap, get a smelter, make some moulds and start making your own weight plates..

Running is alright don't blame you I've been fancying a machine for a while, as for the herd thing dunno I know the virus has been around for 2min.. but you need people to show they are immune to it and I don't there are any are there? Or at least no research been done into it - not that I gone looking recently.
 
The problem with the lock-down (anywhere) is that it is a temporary solution.

People will tolerate it only to certain extend, and for a while. And the same can be said about almost all economies--they are too interrelated, and tourism (both local and international) plays such
an important role in so many big economies...

Prolonged or repeated lock-down means an economic catastrophe, which will subsequently lead to much worse problems than covid-19.... hence I think that political leaders will be much more cautious this time around with their decisions. Let's see.

Our t cells will take care of them. Yeah, be careful for now, but no need to be dead right? Yolo man!

I think I already have the antibody ( no way yo check without going to the government testing centres... I fear them more than the virus itself). It wasn't that bad, atleast for us. If we get a vaccine soon, it will mean that a lot more lives (especially, elderly lives) could be saved. That should be the target, not being fearful. Cmon, we survived plague, aids and whatnot. This is nothing in comparison.

I'm not scared of the virus as such, I won't live forever I might die tomorrow or after I finished editing this post, thats all OK with me. More concerned about any vaccine that comes from it (NOT ANTI VAX in anyway shape or form) but id like to see something with more research behind it than a big all-out push for some company to make bank first. So in the instance of a short supply of vaccines, you can take my spot @Gogol ;)
 
I hope we have to be patience until this year, whatever lockdown or not in our regions . We have to accept the social distancing situations as per the G.O.

People (in the UK) can't even stand back when you enter your pin number when paying for the shopping. Social distancing won't work unless natural selection comes in and kills off all them people first ;)

It was sheer luck. I (mostly) grew up in Scotland and just happened to be visiting family after Christmas when everything went to shit. Worked out though this little village has maybe 50 people on a busy day.

Is your wife still working from an office just now?

Sound ideal for me.

School. She's deputy head (on the way to get her qualification to be a head teacher but COVID has put them plans behind as the training has been paused) so yeah she still goes to work she had to "baby sit" during the last lockdown. I think she would have preferred for schools to have just remained open.
 
this virus not going anywhere it will stay with us forever as like others flu and one day cure will come.

I am afraid loosing loved ones including me.

I think, it was India and Pakistan. I'm not sure about the fine, but the police were beating the offenders with sticks, there were other occurrences, where the offenders were slapped around or they needed to do pushups/squats. lol There are videos on Youtube.

Thanks. Yes, I remember watching a couple of videos from India - especially one where they made a visitor from (presumably) UK write down "Sorry" 500 times for breaking the rules :)

This one though was a news item where according to the report, the LEO says "this is free for you" while beating up, and then says "next up for you, fine - not free" - I am paraphrasing.

A cursory search shows the following countries had creative law enforcement during lockdown - so, I am assuming it happened in one of these countries. :)

Pakistan
Nepal
Philippines
South Africa
Ghana
Kenya
Indonesia
Sierra Leone
 
Quarantine is good to fight the disease, but it doesn't make sense if everyone is not in quarantine ... The key but the result ???

It was india. Few months back,if you go out without any reason, you will get fine or worst case beaten. This is how we handle karens in india. Thats why initial their were very low number of cases, if you compare to the size of population.

Now it is back to normal. Just there are few guidelines to follow. No school, no collegs ,no malls and movie theaters etc.

India has only reached 6.6% of the population tested and it wasn't until august that testing started to pick up. 1/2 of the population of India is under 25, Unless you do mass testing even of those without symptoms, the numbers infected aren't going to be that many people

That how things are and the rules are set by govt can't do much about it. and in India most of the people live with the parents. So we don't want to risk their lives just for the sake of our social life.

Just work from home and chill.
