By definition, yes. 1st / 2nd / 3rd world were basically just names for the alliances in the cold war if I recall correctly. But people sometimes use "1st world" when they actually mean tier 1 countries or wealthy western countries in general.

As someone from 3rd world country living in Europe, I can answer the question.

I can survive on 20$/day in my country but here, I would need around 100$/day for minimum expenses. Reason being that everything is expensive in 1st world countries.

Now you're looking at it the wrong way - Flip the argument/situation.

People earning 100$/day through offline jobs in 1st world country don't care enough when they need to spend 10$ on a domain, 20$ a month on hosting and 300$ on linkbuilding.. at most, the money will be reimbursed in 1 week right?

Someone from 3rd world country can't invest that much money right off the bat.

The barrier to entry is very high for people from 3rd world countries and the same barrier is quite low for 1st world country.

At the end, only people with money, motivation, skills and hardwork can succeed from 3rd world countries while anyone with a 1000$ to spare (not much in a 1st would country) can have a shot at earning with a relitively small skill set.

Man, in which 3rd world country did you need $20/day to survive?

Im living in a developing country in Europe and I can live with $350-$400 a month easily. I earn way more, but i still live with $350-$400.

$100(summer)-$150(winter) for all the utilities.
$100 for food outside of house when I work.
$100 for groceries and hygiene.
My expenses are $300 during summer, and $350 during winter, meaning I always have $50-$100 extra for unplanned expenses.

And all of that with prices much more expensive than prices in India and similar countries outside of Europe.

well its all up to your lifestyle , i am from tier 3 and had done 5k/day but still i think its not enough Xd.
its like the more you will make the more you will need , money will never give you satisfaction trust me

Many people in 3rd world countries get into IM as an additional method of making money or out of desperation due to lack of jobs.
The first objective is clear and obvious for everyone, be it first world or 3rd world, make enough money to survive and pay your bills conveniently.
The only difference here is monthly expenditure is considerably less in 3rd world countries and that is why their first objective is low. After that whether you want to aim for the sky depends on person to person.

My Personal Experience:
In my opinion, the investing argument is just an excuse. Sure, there are business niches where you have to invest a lot initially, but there are also many where you can start with little money. Personally, I'm from a 1st world country, and I started without investing much money. I used my (self-thought) coding skills to create websites and started marketing them (without paid ads or paid SEO in the beginning). First, I totally failed. I even created dropshipping stores that haven't made a single penny because I did it the wrong way. Selling cheap stuff without proper branding & website etc. won't work. I gave up Dropshipping after that, and I admit that money to invest for such type of business is crucial as you need much money for branding and design. Design, UI, and UX is the essential part here and that costs. Nobody will buy something when you have crappy product images etc.

My first project was a website but focused on digital services, which also failed the first time as I didn't get any orders (no paid marketing). I sat on my computer and improved the website. Made changes to the design to make it more beautiful. Created forum threads etc. to bring it to the world, and damn, I got my first sales. Since then, revenue has continually grown. I re-invested all the profits in the beginning into Search Engine Optimization and tried everything and tested everything out. Every niche is different. After the first business had been successful, I scaled it up and created more websites. Now I don't have to do 9-5 jobs anymore. I'm not a millionaire but I earn more than than the average guy in my country and make a good living of it.

Guys, everything is possible. This post is not intended to brag but to motivate you. It's about you, and you won't succeed without skills. Learn how to code websites, learn about SEO, and marketing. There are so many ways to make money and when you are not able to create a system which generates money for you (like E-Commerce) you can trade your time for money like the average person does. Sell your coding, design, writing or SEO skills.

My tip: JUST START & LEARN BY DOING. SCALE WHEN SUCCESSFUL. DESIGN & BRANDING IS CRUCIAL. RE-INVEST.

if you live in a shitty country and only need 10usd a day, why not use a local offline strategy?

I'll give you a real example that happened to me!
Living in Brazil, i have a regular job that i receive equivalent to 462usd (it is not so bad salary in here).

My second source of money is simply to buy a damaged PlayStation 2 on Facebook for 5 usd, fix it and sell it again on Facebook for 40/45 usd! It's really easy !! Around 10 to 15 minutes to fix one (I just identify the problem and replace the bad part with a good one)!
This gives me another 500 usd monthly!

I gave a real example of how to earn at least 15usd a day, with the minimum of work and investment, living in a fucking shit country!

People from 1st tier countries need lots of money to live and some are able to make it in IM. They make like 100$/day and that sounds little to them.
People from 3rd tier countries who needs just a bit of money to live can’t make that bit of money and just thinking of earning that on IM sounds like a dream.

What’s wrong with us ?

I mean, I have a day job, I study at night, and in spare time I try to make some IM.
But I just need to make 10$/day at this point to live confortably and I could even quit my job.

There are people who need to make 100$ a day to live in their country and 100$ sounds little to them.
So, what is wrong with us, people from 2nd and 3rd tier countries ?

Are we lazier than them ?
Are we dumber ?
What is that one thing we have to change to achieve those 10$ a day that would make our life financially easy ?

One reason is that people usually write in the language or about things related to their country. This means they are writing for others 2,3 tier so they make less money than wrting for 1 tier.

I’ve always been more motivated when I was broke and starving than when I was fat and complacent and well paid.
I doubt tier 2 and 3a are lazier than tier 1s. But there will be spatters of lazy people in the community just like there are in tier 1 GEOs.
