Fanboys battle (Apple vs Microsoft)

No offence but most users replying here are probably the ones who never used any apple device. Same goes for iOS or Android. They call it overpriced, shit products but the fact is they never owned it because they cant afford it
Is that a fact:? lol

Are you one of those who have $0 in savings yet spent all your money on Apple products? :weep:

Proof that their marketing is great, since they get morons to believe that.

I don't want to start a post war or anything but this offended me. Having owned an iPhone since childhood, i basically owned all iPhone versions except the current iPhone because i switched to Note10 Plus a year ago, and i am happier with an android device due to functionality. I even got shocked that an android can do a lot more things than an iPhone can.

Was that for me? Yeah, I have used mac for office purpose (mainly because rotten apple stopped developing safari for windows). I know why people love the OS. Can I not afford it? Sure I can, but it does not make any monitory sense to buy one. It's shit hardware for 3 times the price, like I said earlier.

I knew someone would mention my $$ right after lmao, I'm amazed no one has yet said " hey you are not even upgraded ". I'll back off now, I'm actually scared you figured out my exact savings..

Sorry mate but I’ll have to disagree lol. It’s not that they “can’t afford it”, they just don’t prefer it, lol

This weekend, I am gonna attempt installing hackintosh to solve this problem.

Make sure your hardware is compatible.

I love mac os but the specs aren't good enough for me.

I just decided to make a copy using Manjaro and it worked surprisingly well :D

That's for everyone who has never used apple products but yet jump to the conclusion to discredit it

Manjaro looks interesting. Unfortunately, I don't think it is capable of handling xcode. :(
Yepp, I would be sure to check the specs out before I attempt the hackintosh.

I own both mobile/desktop flagship devices ; They’re honestly not as shitty as people thought.

Although, often find myself running to android and windows; where the body and soul truly belongs.

Surprising when you say that people without Apple can't afford it, lolmao.

Apple user here :D I have both used android / iOS, Win / OS X and i stuck with apple mainly because of reliability, price stability(no blue screens / non responding programs with lost projects), looks and because of workflow. It indeed took some time to get used to the mac world and its a pricey world...but i never buy new stuff only second hand or private for less money. My main machine is a 27" iMac from mid 2011 and its still working perfectly fine...show me a nearly 10 year old win machine that will even boot hahah :D
But i have to admit the newer releases don't exite me as much as the older ones. If you really wanna try a macbook i would recommend getting a used 2015 model with all the ports and backlit apple logo...if you dont like it you can sell it basically for the same price you bought it.

Its because their excellent branding and marketing. Explains why their shit is less but sells for much more. 2+ Trillion market cap. We should all learn branding from them.
That's is what Apple truly excels in. Making people want to buy their products. They are playing arch-mage level at publicity and brand building. This article from Forbes (https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidphelan/2020/08/30/apple-watch-and-iphone-make-you-76-more-attractive-on-dating-apps--is-that-all/#1014dbbca947) says you're more likely to get dates if you own (visible) Apple products. Rolex has used this business model with great success. You can get a replica which experts have problems identifying as fake. It's not the value of the physical item, it's a symbol of status. Funny thing, I read many rich people don't buy real Rolex, or other luxury timepieces. They can signal their status with a replica at the tenth of the price. Actually a very rational decision if you ask me.

PS! Get a not Apple laptop. Check out models that work great with linux. Then you always have the option to switch between OS's

@whitecupg so amm, let me get this straight, your glorious comeback about us trashing a trashy overpriced products is that we are idiots who never used apple products? well, how else would we judge the products if we never used them? please, tell us more about the cutting edge hardware apple offers? and don't mention the thousand dollars stand or the seven hundred dollar wheels, we get it, you guys are great. :)

Oh, and i recommend to OP (with a $2,000 budget) An ACER ConceptD 5 - what did you recommend? which apple Macbook would be better than this one? maybe closer tech or in best case similar tech for what? ha? $7,000?

EXACTLY - Status, social recognition. A symbol of wealth, success and elevated position. Very effective methods indeed.

As someone who owns both if you wont be gaming and dont want to change it for something else in a year or two get a mackbook.

Imagine saying Mac has trash hardware when built PC's have driver issues and need to be fixed all the time.

In past comments i recognized the fact that MAC OS is way better than windows. i called it slick even. We are discussing hardware here. Software goes to Linux then mac and windows comes last. (although windows is the market leader, hands down)

Unlike apple, which controls everything. Windows is just an OS, a software. When building up a system, you must have adequate information and do proper research into which motherboard goes with which processor and power supply wattage...ETC) so you dont get hardware performance issues (like speed and bottlenecks) or configurations issues, like drivers...ETC)

Again, windows comes last on OS, but its easier to use and doesn't come with monopoly. Linux and windows are a representation of the FREE MARKET - where hundreds of companies COMPETE! - that's why they will always be better, no matter what! :)

I mean no, completely disagree, I've owned Apple devices before, several and can with complete confidence say Apple devices are overpriced. I see the appeal of a simple OS, but ultimately the hardware in them is 5+ years out of date (typically).

Apple are brilliant at marketing. Take the iPhone, it's an okay phone, but the main issue is the battery and has been forever, you can't tell me for a second that they can't put a better battery in their phones, of course they can, but they won't. Why should they? They can still maintain sales levels with cheaper components, when they drop and people lose interest, then they'll do it.
