Looks like this was the case, my traffic has bounced back to normal on my analytics from what I can tell after it all dropping drastically for a few hours.

I was watching their recent congress hearing. They got put on blast for shady content stealing and featured snippets and all roads leading back to a google product so they are probably going to change a shit load of stuff

that is why a lot of yt vids disappeared from search, one of my sites is in competitive industry and after the may update the first page look like this: yt video snippet, 3 yt videos, people also ask, google books, quora, reddit, Pinterest, basically all the content was on the second page. Today for the same kw there are no social websites and no yt vids

Looks like a glitch as some serps I am watching are practically back to where they were 24 hours ago, after a real wild swing.

What does Google mean by "glitch" though, since you can't believe a word they say. Was it a mistake, an intentional test or could they have accidentally released something too soon.

What I saw is horrible results initially, then I saw the spam and directory sites disappear and then I saw everything revert to where it was previously

I think it's a filter test gone wrong. Looks like this filter lifted sites up only based on PA/DA and that's why parasites and directory pages went up.
