Is there a Big G update again?

Well this update affects Local service businesses MASSIVELY
Yelp, Angieslist, and HomeAdvisor just took over the top search results and pushed all local businesses basically to page 2 - even if they were ranking 1st position on organic search
Also, on a smaller note product review snippet stars have been removed it looks like from the SERPs

Looks like another attempt to get service businesses to use Google Ads.
Might have to also put more money into Yelp and Angieslist sadly to make up for lost SEO traffic :weep:
 
It's typical I'd just done a load of work on my site to test some ideas out and see how it impacted rankings - I won't know now because they've done an update anyway.
 
For me, rankings are going up and down, but ups are little bit higher then before, hopefully it will stay that way after a day or two

Some of my keywords on the 1st page are on 3+ pages, now (In desktop)!!


But it improved my ranking on mobile (That's funny!)

saw amazon and bestbuy ranking for some of my keywords, that is not good
 
Alright, so the many pages on two of my site that were hit hard by this update are all of a sudden are now back to ranking, and not just that, but better rankings than before. Pretty crazy.

One thing to note, I did lose my star snippets, but so did nearly all my competitors.
 
It must be a bug. Don't panic.
The first page is full of trash. I see spammy websites, mapsites.
The results are so bad I would prefer clicking on Adwords.
Maybe a smart move from Google to get more clicks on their ads. lol
 
My two cents worth which is completed unfounded in any real science. My two bigger and older websites are seeing big gains. My newer websites are seeing slight losses... overall it's a big gain for me. Without trying to be smug, I hope it continues like this.

mine are still bouncing around. the rankings are better for some terms, worse for others. Overall though not much of an impactful change across 2 of my sites. hopefully the dance will end in all of our favor.
 
Dang mines are dancing crazy hard.
