Hi everyone,

I started a new ebay.com account and listed a few products.

One buyer with 100% positive feedback has made a offer for the listing and we accepted the offer amount. Now when we contact the buyer to complete the payment, we receive the following message:

"Okay good I got your PayPal email, I’ll also like you to help me include a gift card of $400 with the package as it’s going for a gift to my cousin, I’ll be adding $400 for the gift card and an extra $50 for shipping and gas
I would really appreciate you assisting with this cause i work away from home with the US Marines and not in the right position to have it mailed out myself."

Is this some sort of scam the buyer is scheming to perpetrate wherein after we send the gift card, it will be received by some person and then he may file a PayPal dispute claiming for the whole amount (cost of the item + this 400 $ gift card ) wherein we may end up loosing 400 $ additionally ?

Could you guys shed some light on what you think

If i understand the buyer have bought the item you are selling and he contacted you to add a $400 gift card in the package??

Yes, right. The buyer says he will add an additional 400 $ (for gift card) and 50$ (for our postage + gas expense) and that he wants us to ship the 400 $ worth gift card + our listed product
