I think it works on any Wordpress theme/plugin, I use a paid one (Boombox) and used a free one before, it worked on both, there should be no problem, but it's best for you to try it out.

There's a limit of 500MB backup size for free version, paid offers unlimited I believe, but my website is just 220MB, so should be enough

Ditto, I've ran into some issues in the past with Duplicator and others. All-in-One WP Migration by ServMask has been by the far the best. Free version supports up to 200MB (I believe?) and I just paid for the premium version since I never had any issues. I've migrated sites off many different hosts (WP Engine, DO, Flywheel, etc.) on Apache/Nginx.

Well in my opinion cloning is really fast so no need to search for some free migration hosting (haven't tried it, cloning works really perfectly so didn't have any urge to try it out too)

Yes, I actually had a problem uploading a backup once as it kept getting stuck, was miserable, then uploaded it through ftp manually, my site is over 200MB so I believe the free version supports up to 500MB, unless I have some old version

Yeah, come to think of it I think it's 512MB for free version. Your problem might have been related to server configuration/limits e.g., max file upload, post max size, etc.

Probably, but the limit should be 1GB by default I believe, solved it anyways, so it's cool
