Google Update - messing up with the search results again

I just noticed something is going at google that is causing homepages of sites to disappear..this started today only.
Example search for brand names like
mom junction
fab how
etc
and you will find their homepages are not showing in google anymore..
Homepage will show only if you add .com to their brand names...
Poor google engineers, they have messed up with the code again...

I did around 10 brand searches and not seeing it. When this happens, it's usually not a good sign for the website. Might be a temporary glitch, but could also be a manual penalty.

emedicinehealth - inner page showing but not homepage
sparkpeople - inner page showing but not homepage
emedihealth - pinterest on top
activebeat - Facebook on top


All homepages are missing.
Pinterest ruling the top spots for brand names.

Since it's happening with whitehat, bigger sites as well so its definitely a google code mess up and also indicates Google is going to push a new update soon!

Yup, I see it now. Not happening with any of the brand searches on my end, but I plugged in yours and definitely seeing it. Very interesting. Will keep an eye on the SERPs in the next few days. Keep your bung-hold puckered!

I have sacked him as he’s not doing his job, it seems he’s plotting with google once again and that’s why his sites are not effected. Yea I’m seeing this too it’s really weird started in. July hopefully it’ll be fixed

A couple of the tools out there showed a minimal spike 17th/18th July, but nothing too major.

Mozcast also shows 18th July as slightly more turbulent than usual

Was shocked to see a few top pages out of index for a site which has survived every update.

This new generation of kids (what Gen are we on now Z3?) doesn't know how a search engine should work. They take any shit you give them.
