"Want to Sell" thread is needed in BlackHatWorld

Haha dude.
Only WTS threads should be wild west since normal BSTs are always recurring with repeat buyers. But this one is different dude. It is one-off. Quality control of normal BST by mods makes a lot of sense. But I feel it won't apply properly here to WTS. Due to the same reason, it is a one sale thing. Done.
Done? You not decide what is done. Because you are just a member, Damien mentioned also multiple products on page 2 in this thread. I know the reason why he is doing it, it's the backlog they have problem to clean. So maybe solution is much simpler.

Will this open currency exchange threads?
Nope. I don't think so.
Currency exchange discussions are not allowed in BlackHatWorld.

I feel like crisis is coming to bhw. firstly, how people check the quality of the product or service without any previous review about that.? how to measure the quality of that? who protect the buyers without getting into troubles after buy? I don't care it's one time selling or not. How buyers get confirmation this product is good to go??

And on the other side as a Jr VIP how you protect your sales from scammers? what action you take to secure your transactions of your sales? any middle man included to the process??

Haha. No dude. Not literally done.
Just saying emphatically that once deal is done in the WTS thread, then so be it. Moderators should have less to worry about such thread as there would be a Big disclaimer on it that it is WILD WEST.

Due diligence means responsibility.
Buyers have to use their brain. Check Jr VIP membership duration, good standing, post counts, ratings. Those are reliable metrics enough to guide buyers in their purchase decision. It's metric-guided purchase decision making for buyers when due diligence counts as WILD WEST here.

I think the idea is quite straightforward and simple rule to follow.

Hmm how to abuse the system.. Ah here is an idea.

I have 1 potato for sale today anyone want just $1 last one I have left.

24 hours later

Guys. I have found another potato (last one I have) really cheap $1..

24 hours later

Guys you won't believe me but I didn't check in the shed yesterday there were still 2 potatoes left priced really cheap $1.50.

24 hours later

My neighbor still had a potato left which I am allowed to sell same price as before $1.

Yes this system will be abused, and Damien will have to open the 'looking for mod thread' again. Just for this.

the answer:
a) nobody guarantee the quality for seller, there are now 100+ threads in moderation, you think they have time to check them all carefuly? I bought few products and they were shit, even moderator wrote awesome review. Also some products were good. You need to check seller history on BHW, jr.vip reviews, etc. to make sure it's ok. We have a lot jr.vip shit list threads and moderation approval for BST is not the firewall
b) protect sales from buyers? It's impossible? I lost PayPal here because fraudulent chargebacks ;)

I think that Damien should reconsider how whole Marketplace should work. There is huge work for moderators. I am waiting 39 days for moderation but I have seen people waiting since March, one was waiting since February (already they fixed him). Why to buy Jr.VIP, if it's going to expire before you can sell your product? For example I have see huge demand for product in one of section, I have solution for that, people want that and in next half year they can fix it themself.
I appreciate moderators hard work they put in reviews, but they have not enough labour force, probably cause coronavirus.

I don't think this is a problem.

I mentioned in a previous post in this thread that Damien could just limit the number of WTS thread you are allowed to post per month or quarterly. In fact, one or two WTS per quarterly makes a lot of sense.

There would be no room for an abuse when such limit exists.

Sometime, I have similar kinda feeling, specially, when I see "Want to Sell" section in other platforms.

I do agree with the OP
+1 vote

Thanks

I think this could be very good but maybe limit it to one-off sales with < $100 value or something.

Bhw should have a midle man, like flippa....

Buyer send money to bwh, seller transfer the service... Then after that bhw as midle man send the money to the seller...

You can have price for the midle man service,

Yes but my example is just 1 sales thread. I just have bad eye sight hence why the potatoes stay the same even though I am selling 1 or 2 Everyday!!

Moderator should address this by simply closing a WTS thread that has such spam.
They should treat a WTS just as simple as they will deal with spam in a normal thread. Of course all rules for normal thread should apply here except the BST rules which is a bit different.

By spacing between monthly or quarterly the time you are allowed to open a WTS, and by checking for spam (eg more than one sale or some shitty comments suspected). I believe that won't be difficult to spot at all as the mods are experienced at dealing with spam. And then they may close the WTS thread suspected of selling more than once.

Interesting idea. The idea, by itself, is a good one.

The way this can be gamed is by using this new section as a lead generator, thus bypassing the more stringent BST approval process and payment of fees.

Example: Sell something for $2, get the person in your contact list. Now that he is your customer, upsell other things directly to them without any quality check and without paying any fees to BHW.

When the upsell happens, buyer has a higher chance of receiving an inferior product, since it never went through the approval process.
The moderators may end up with more work (I am not talking about more work for moderating the new section, I am talking about the work involved because of complaints involving upselling).

BHW may get less revenue because no fees were paid for opening a sales thread.

So, more work for mods, less money for Damien, more risk for buyers.

You can try to ban upselling, but that is not practical either.

So the following steps will be added for the moderator.
  1. Search in the subforum for threads with X replies.
  2. Check for duplicate threads (same user within a timespan)
  3. Check spams or shitty posts ( your words) in said threads
  4. Check pm logs of everyone involved with the seller.
  5. Take moderation action against the seller.
Yes the moderators are experienced but those 5 steps do take more than a few minutes. So difficult NO, time consuming Yes.

Yeah, buyers fate in God's hands. Checking Jr.VIP membership duration, post counts, ratings don't mean that person cannot change suddenly. Am i right, my friend? As Vinku said above, there's a lot of shit list threads going against for jr VIP members. People are always changing, let's say a Jr. VIP member needs some urgent cash, and what he is choosing scam a buyer with a one-time fee. Suppose that the selling amount is 10x times larger than Jr.VIP membership fee he doesn't care he lose his membership or not. We can't go to international police to complain about 500$ scam in the forum? IDK if this will happen or not. It's just a thought that came into my mind.

As you said, buyers have to use their brains. But I like it if we can introduce a middle man service for that quick [WTS] purchasing, selling process. We can use all the moderators as the middlemen. Let's say we can choose a moderator as our middle man. He will get some percentage from the service or product at a one-time sale, and he can also check the product with the minimum waiting time. He can check the quality too. Buyers happy, the seller is comfortable also. And also, the BHW gets more income. It's just an idea IDK it's possible or not.

Finally this all decisions need to take from the authority. I'm just sharing my thoughts here. thanks.

I kinda agree with the OP, however I am afraid that such section may kill the marketplace - why listing there, when you can do it "free" without waiting for approval, no quality control etc.

Maybe with some limitation - 1 open thread per jr VIP at any time, extra ones cost $30 as normal BST, but without the mods approval. This way there will be opportunity to sell some cheap/unused stuff, without turning this free section in the replacement of the marketplace.

1 & 2 in the list are not a thing.
Mods do not have to do that. In fact mods need not start looking for duplicate since duplicate is not possible. Why? Quarterly limit means no duplicate.
Mods MAY take action IF they stumble upon such thread. No need to begin looking for WTSs.

3, 4 n 5. No need to search for pm logs. It was stated as wild west already.

Sounds great, the idea to choose a mod as your middle man makes a lot of sense to me.
