Hey bhw community I learned a lot here, and I thank you for that. Today, I want to ask the people of experience. I want to start print on demand business. Is this field still profitable?
Can u give some advices how to start and Wich tools and websites should I use I am sure many people will benefit from this post

Maybe you should start a business which solves people's problems because all people care about is Time and Money.

Find a way to solve it and start a business in that niche!

The days when you could spin up a POD store and sell via Facebook ads traffic are over. You need a better source of traffic to be able to sell products like that these days.

A blog or a YouTube channel is a good start.

Also, the margins for POD are very slim. You should look into buying your own press and printing bulk-ordered shirt yourself. It can be the difference between profitable and not.

i think its still a good way to make money - a lot of opportunities. There can be various ways you could start it. Amazon merchant could be a great start or probably doing your own personalized store & running ads on facebook.

Indeed.

Why should someone buy your shit, OP?

What is so unique about your crap?

Solve a problem, provide a product or service that people want that they can't find elsewhere, and ideally be able to defend your product/service with branding & intellectual property.

Yes is still profitable, but not for all.. Your service must be high quality to increase sucess rate.

Absolutely still works.

Best way to start is test a few designs to see what works on platforms like etsy, amazon. You will need to upload a lot of designs for this.

Once you find out what works try and figure a way you can do the printing yourself. i.e. if you are printing personalised mugs find out about getting a mug printing machine.

Once you are printing to order by yourself you will have much bigger profit margins to work with and can try other traffic sources.

After you get a bit of traction you can also create you own store and with the longer term aim of getting sales through the site.

Can also use google shopping to send traffic to send traffic (quality traffic and really cheap)

Google shopping traffic converts at around 5% for me.

Biggest hint create designs you can't get anywhere else so people need to buy from you.

I have made 150 quick shirt designs and found that traffic from passive links in video descriptions is very low.

It's only profitable if you can create designs that standout and promote them correctly inside and outside the store.

I actually deliver cups/mugs to a guy who prints his designs from home.
Told me gave up his (well paid, bad gaffer) day job to go for it,does a lot of exhibitions etc.
We have had to carry on working through the Pandemic, delays from China etc have not been that long.
His sales have gone up online since crisis started but more importantly, has he put it to me.his quality of life is now so much better.
Admitted can be long days when away at shows but they are/was every few months.
So if you can mix it up i would go with a yes.

Theres no such thing as oversaturation, if your product is good people will buy. Is it harder than before? Probably, but honestly on Facebook I see some poppin POD ads with some incredible designs that made me want to buy them. So its all on how you market.

Why do you think Facebook traffic isn't working? I think it's all about creativity, design and cost. If the t-shirt is cool, then why won't the user buy it from the Facebook ad? A T-shirt is a thing that is always needed. I think Facebook is still working. But to make money on this, you need really cool prints.
