Are Lead Gen Sites Worth It?

Yes it still works and it still works well, did you notice that all the nay-sayers in the thread are just basing their opinion on what they have heard what others do, ignore them they don't know shit. I and the other hand have leadgen sites since 2004.

Is it easy? No!
It has become harder but the way i do it is whit a page-generator and a cloaker where i redirect my traffic to my landingpages, local SEO hasn't changed that much in the last 10 years, not as much as all these know it all, wannabee local SEO gurus like to tell you, i still rank website with .xyz domains for lots of local keywords with just a view citations, PBN links and web 2.0 links.

Is the traffic huge? No!
But if you build a site with a lot of keywords + city pages you will get a lot of traffic after a while, the state of Ohio has about a 100 cities (wiki) if you go do your research on, lets say, plumbers you will find that there are a lot of services dan sub-services that you can target, you can build a website with a 1000, 1500 pages targeting all these phrases + cities and redirect your traffic to a landing page and then all of the sudden you have, in worse case scenario, a couple of 100 visitors per month that are activity seeking a service they need right now, in other words HOT LEADS.

Can you find leads with (paid) SMS traffic? Of course you can!
But if you wanna target services like plumbers you need to learn how to target and how to warm them up, i have my ways with messenger bots and texts that i am not going to reveal but i can tell you as i like that method and it is making me bank after two years of trying and testing. I can tell you that i am not paying Google prices (stay away from Adwords their prices are insane) for my leads when it comes to social traffic but it does need some marketing work. (psssttt FB-groups ;) )

I have leads nobody is buying!
There are at least 5 companies that will buy them from you like: ring revenue, marketcall and others that will buy your leads, of course for less then you can sell them yourself to business owners, but you will have no hustles like getting clients and qualifying leads, you just get paid.

I hope this will give you some more informed info then what people say about what they heard people did

TL;RD
Yes, it is possible, you can make a very good living (10K profit per month is very common) , it will take you at least 6/9 months to see ROI, stop listening to people who never done it, get to work.

Couple questions if you have the time.

1. Page generator cloaked and routed to lander. Definitely familiar with this method. Old school haha. However, I have not found any of the old software on the market anymore for this. Care to share here or via DM where you get your IP database to route users vs search spiders and the page generator itself? Pretty sure I saw that even Shadowmaker is unavailable.

So what is understood is:

Say, I want to send leads to plumbing businesses.

1. I will first contact Plumbing business owners and tell them that I can give you quality leads.
2. If they agree, then I will make a plumbing related website and run PPC ads(or SEO)
3. I get emails from interested people, asking for more info or like they are interested in taking plumbing services.
4. I then forward each lead to the business owner and they pay in return for each lead

Am I correct?

NO.

The is the way to waste time and money

You have no product to sell

Create your brand. It should be GENERIC and contain the word plumbing. MafiaPlumbing.com - "We make you an offer you can't refuse", "We make problems disappear", you get the idea.

CREATE 3 or 4 sites FIRST

Get leads FIRST

Choose 3 or 4 plumbers and GIVE THEM THE LEADS for a week or two

Then follow up and ask for a subscription - OR sell by lead OR ask for a percentage of sales

If they aren't interested, find another plumber

When you stop sending leads, then they get serious

Also find a PLR product about plumbing to give away

Also add an Amazon Store selling plumbing equipment, T-Shirts, Books, etc

If you add articles about plumbing you might get approved to have adsense ads.

Make your system to generate revenue even when no leads are coming in

Plumbing is local, so you can do this in hundreds of cities and create an empire.

Use the BHW services of a vendor and buy a Google Business Listing for the selected city.

Local lead generation can be extremely profitable. There's ~4500 cities in the US with 10,000-100,000 population. There's probably about 300+ home service industries, there's literally millions of possible combinations for niche + city.

For SEO in some areas there is virtually 0 competition. Some of the sites sites ranking have very few backlinks or content and look like they were made in the 1990s.

Another bonus is that even a 10 MS search term can be very profitable and bring you in $100+ a month in revenue. Monthly searches on keyword tools for local terms are wildly inaccurate. I tend to ignore it because it's wrong a lot of the time. I focus more on population of the city. If it's an evergreen niche like plumber or locksmith your pretty much guaranteed to have search demand despite tools showing 0 monthly searches. I see places with 100k pop. Show 0 monthly searches for some keywords which is impossible. Pick a city with 20k population or more and there will be demand for the niches like plumber and locksmith. I have Google search search showing me impression data of maybe 50 for one keyword in the last 28 days despite the keyword apparently having 0 MS.

There's a lot of money to be made with local generation.

The biggest threats are map pack, Google guaranteed/home service and Google ads which all take up a considerable amount of CTR. That being said, organic results aren't going away anytime soon and in many niche + city keywords I come across (smaller and more rural cities/suburbs) there aren't many/any Google ads running for specific keywords.

Edit: lead generation as a whole is so broad and there's a lot of ways you could generate money by selling leads. Could be local, financial, insurance, health, lessons/courses/instructors/training.... The list is endless.

Maps is the main source of traffic for PPL, google has been cracking down on maps HARD this year, I'm doing both and I have to say affiliate > PPL.

I read some replies and people are talking out of their ass, highly doubt any of them are doing PPL via SEO.

DO NOT CREATE LEAD SITES FIRST, BEFORE GETTING A PARTNER.

95% you'll be stuck with the site and no one wanting/qualified to buying your leads, when I started I thought everyone will want the leads so I worked on the sites first. Big mistake. 95% of local companies:

1. Don't understand how it works and don't want to hear from you.
2. Understand but are not qualified to handle them (doesn't pickup the phone, can't close, get over-booked.)

For example we called 1k roofing companies and send 1k emails, only got a few partners out of those. Don't fall for the guru BS, it's way harder than affiliate, that's why we quit doing PPL and just maintain the sites we have currently.

Thanks for your detailed reply.

Can you tell why there is a need to create 3 to 4 sites ? If we are creating a brand, we can send plumbing leads to anywhere in the world irrespective of the location. Or am I missing aomething?

So i'm going to give it a shot with a mixture of a website/some small paid ads, but I'm stuck between 2 different niches, plumbing or dentists.

Which would be more likely to purchase leads?

I still use wpcloaker, been using it for years and it works like a charme, Dave is a member here i believe you should ask him about the tech stuff

you could even set these sites up with the intention of selling them to a business in the area.

I am very interested in this topic, I have been collecting the lead manually through lot of search and research.

Will you be posting the updates here, about your ongoing process.

i have a website that gets leads from all over the US because it ranks for some service terms even without city name.. currently i have 3 guys in specific cities that i dominate that are paying me 10% per job that i get them.. my question is whats the best way to sell all the other leads as I don't have guys in every random city that someone might request service? Should I just try to build a list of local operators in all the biggest cities and refer to my list when someone calls? I'm having trouble figuring this part out..

Out of curiosity, what service is it ? Manual one like locksmith ? Just don’t share the cities :p

its mostly non-saturated niche so i prefer to not say lol
Haha I understand, don’t mind me asking I hope
for your question, I guess it depends on the volume. You can’t go into all cities of a country if you just get some leads.
But if you do get a good volume (maybe trying to rank on all cities with articles). Then you can like make a directory on the website with all the cities you chose and put the name of every partner you got.

Yes easy.
This should mostly be done with LinkedIn, i already am running this business model in a non-popular country, so I'm not trying to be rank one google for US lead production, I've gone more local, but that's just because everyone is wanting this service as its kinds new in this country.

Anyway yes pick a niche, you need a LinkedIn tool. Get 500 followers, make a website of course, then start inviting people as friends with your tool and send an opening message that doesnt sound automated, the next day reply to all with interest and eventually you will close a deal for someone wanting your solution, you will need to build multiple LinkedIn accounts to 500 followers and make them look appealing (This only takes 1-2 weeks depending on the niche you're growing with) obviously you will get much more used to what im talking about with practice. Then you will see!

Ill give you 1 niche and an example, in the SaaS niche i have worked with a customer who sold HCM Software which is a software most HR departments use in companies, so i have obtained a new customer with HCM software he wants to offer to HR departments of companies. So what do i naturally do? I change my alt LinkedIn account so its now working for the SaaS company, your new client should accept you as his employee.
Then i do exactly what i did for myself to get the SaaS client for the SaaS client. I start inviting specifically managers or head of HR departments of USA companies is a certain region and so on, you can hone down on your target. Then i start inviting 200 people per day,, all HR managers etc, i would;old collect 5-10 replies each day of people interested and wanting to know more about my SaaS software.
Now depending on the deal you can qualify those leads further and pass him 1-3 very qualified leads, or hand the 10 leads each day over to your new client so themselves or an employee can try and close the leads you have supplied.
Now 10 people knocking on your door asking about your product daily is a lot more than the client was having previously, even with 1 deal closed from the Saas client the deal is worth enough for him to buy a 12 month contract with my system?? Thats just from 1 LinkddIn account. Imagine the scale. You can also see how LinkedIn is the perfect tool to target geo, target business size, department, position, so many adamn options that the leads you acquire are pretty much the person you need to be speaking with about the product.

As a bonus you can usually acquire phone numbers and personal emails when someone becomes your friend on LinkedIn, meaning whoever didn't answer to your opening question is still a hot lead, they're still targeted perfectly, so email and phone campaigns can also be implemented.

Now i have pretty much given yall a niche and the way to do it.!! Lets get to work!!

You don't need to rank, you don't need to pay for adverts all you need is what i have told you, trust me. The website is for mere show and should look very presentable, but you can rank it at your own leisure. You will be getting so many people at your door with the method above you wont have time for ranking or ads

its very closely related to the moving niche more like a sub-niche of the moving industry.. its basically an untapped niche that very few people are after

Might have luck selling to a network if they have coverage. I took a look at the moving niche and it's sub niches. I found a potential sub niche. I wonder if it's the same your in ;) if there's a city you get the majority of leads then try getting some buyers. How many leads you getting per day?
