Google releasing a large update today

These updates were definitely about increasing their bottom line.
Do you guys really think a multi-billion dollar company wouldn't have the capacity to fix all of these search query issues for nearly 2 months now?
It's like a Mcdonalds fucking up your order for nearly 2 months now. Do you think they would still be business?
Google can get away with this crap because they have a monopoly.

Nope, and I'll tell you why. The world is bigger than just the U.S. This update is a global update. Look beyond your horizons.
On a personal level, myself and somebody I know with completely different opinions had the same experience with this update.
I see some improvement (40%) when I compare yesterday and today to Monday and Tuesday 7 days ago. Not even close where I was before but it's something. I'll wait a few more days to see if the traffic is improving.
I'd be probably the last to say it as google never admits any mistakes but based on what others have said and on my personal searches not related to my website, there is something wrong with the search engine. Even their search suggestion box doesn't work like it used to.
When I search for 'tradingview session high and (I was about to type low) it suggested 'tight hair cut' than 'low' which was what I wanted and 'dry'. If their AI, brain, or whatever they call is so smart it should know that tradingview is a trading platform (well established, well known) and 'tight hair cut' or 'high and dry' has nothing to do with it. I typed those keywords in the past and never had such stupid suggestions. And I have never searched for 'high and tight hair cut' so personal search history is out of the question.

Good for you.
My joy was short lifted. A few days ago, my keyword jump 20+, yesterday dropped back to 51+. I didn't do anything.

above is the reason why google has reversed their current algorithm. searching for "how to babysit a toddler when your wife is at work" and getting books.google.com for search result, made google board to go @bartosimpsonio on JM ass and had him reverse the algorithm.
all kidding aside, the number 1 position is now parents.com and then followed by few books.google.com
Interesting, for me there was another site (parenting blog) in the top 7 now. So it seems they might have tweaked back the algo slightly, but not fully. As 6/7 results are still Google Books, before it was 7/7.

Look beyond your horizons, there have been leaks of googles "algorithmic fairness" etc, google is a global company with its center in the US.
So you have your own small time study with a sample size of two to disprove this theory? Impressive.
Im not jumping to any conclusions saying that this is happening, but i find it interesting and possible especially regarding the leaks.

It's too volatile 3-5 kyw I manage moving up and down since the core update. Frustrating...

Good job I wasn't trying to prove anything then, eh? The burden of proof is on the person making the claim, i.e. you. The fact that these global updates reach places where people have no stake or interest in Donald Trump is a basic flaw in your logic, not something in support of a claim I'm making.
If you want to talk facts and numbers, feel free. The Guardian (biggest newspaper of the UK left) saw drops in this update; the Daily Mail (ditto of the UK right) saw about exactly the same. NBC went up while Fox went down, although Fox still have almost SEVEN times as many keywords in SERPs, so make of that what you will. The funniest, though, is that Donald Trump's own website saw YUGE gains in the update...
We could argue until the cows come home about this website or that website, but if Trump's very own website got a boost in the update, I doubt this was an update targeting Trump lmao. Unless these are false flag SERPs!!!

Seeing 3 line articles ranking top for lots of stuff. Especially smartphone fixes and expensive kw's in iOS and Android niches. You click through and it's like geocities with shit moving all over the screen and 3 lines of content in the middle.

Has anyone seeing positive effects? Im still getting hit and there was no rollback for me.
My competitors who have older sites but worse on page metrics have gained with the last 2 days.. this is insane.

How is your on-page SEO? How often do you use the exact keyword (meta description, H1, H2, text)? Do you link with the exact keyword anchor text or generic?
Search the keyword, find your website on SERP, see what title and description google is showing and where is(are) the highlighted keyword. Compare your title, description and keywords in bold to what's on the 1st page, and check which part of the page they are taken from. That might give you some clue if you are over or under-optimized and if you need to do some tweaking. If that doesn't work my best guess is that it has something to do with links, quality, and anchor text. If you link a lot with exact/partial keyword anchor text your on-page keyword density should be low. If it's high google will go after your website as in their eyes it's over-optimized. If most of your links are generic anchor text you could increase your keyword density and see if it works.

Well this last update was kinda depressing. On the first day of the update I saw some positive movement, my keywords started to go up (10, 20, 30 places)... Though the rankings were still a long ways away from the original ones, I was thinking Google finally started rolling back that s**t update from May. But this positive movement happened only on that first day and then it stopped. Anyone else experienced the same?
